SFM: Who is working today?

I am. I'm going to love making all of that cash money (time and a half for 8 hours + 8 hours of holiday pay at my normal rate), but I'm not looking forward to the MASSIVE amounts of visitors my patients are going to have. They always want me to go fetch them a Pepsi or get their mom/dad/whatever in and out of bed 1,000 times. I'm sure this will be me at 11:30 tonight:

 

Anyways, who's working today/tonight? I'm off tomorrow. Seniority, ftw.

Working 3 to almost midnight. Hooray for holiday pay! If I'm training again I'll also get trainer pay. Then helping my sister wrap presents for hours. At least I'm off tomorrow.

I'm sad I'm missing out on Christmas Eve festivities, but at least work will help time go by faster until the morning.

I am working but unlike you I don't get paid extra.  I have a booked schedule of follow ups.  WTH?  Since when is Christmas Eve the best time to have an annual blood pressure follow up?  Ugh.

Sorry, Buona... I was the bish that scheduled a Xmas Eve drs appointment.  My doc was actually on vacation last week so the first thing they offered me was an appointment today.  I took it.  

I feel bad for you ladies.  I worked retail for years through high school and college and I *hated* working Christmas or NY Eve, but it seems as though I always did.

This is the first Christmas Eve I have had off in over 10 years. Because Monday is my normal day off. Normally I would be suffering right along with the rest of you and not making time and a half.

Not working but I would like to share the ridiculousness that came out of DH's aunt's mouth yesterday. His other aunt's teenage daughter could not get off worn and they live in another state so they could not come. She works retail and they said nobody could have off. The aunt here said "I think she should have just told them she had family out of state and it was a set thing and she couldn't work." Really? Really? Did the fact that they said if you didn't show you had no job not tell you that that was not an option? Do you really think they care? This is a chain retail store not a Mom and Pop store ffs.

Then she said "we'll she should have told them when they were hiring her". Right. Like you are going to not take a job over that. I remember my mom wanting me to tell a possible employer all these days I couldn't work. Um, no! Lord help me with these crazy people!
