Book Recs- XP

H and I are going on a cruise next week. I need to load up my Kindle for the sea days. I usually read Nora Roberts/ J. D. Robb for relaxation. But I have also read the GoT series, Hunger Games, Harry Potter, etc. 

What have you got?

For something light and fun I like Emily Giffin, Jane Green and Cecilia Ahern.

Not too long ago I read Molokai and Honolulu by Alan Brennert and loved both. You don't really have to read them in any particular order, but I would read Molokai first.

ETA: also anything by Jodi Picoult

Funny I almost bought Molokai yesterday.

My to-read list has The Vow, Gone Girl, The Art Of Racing In The Rain, and The Fault In Our Stars. I think J.K Rowling has a new book out and I agree with Jodi Picoult, though her endings are reallly frustrating.

I'm SO jealous that you're going on a cruise.... ah, I miss it SO bad!

My favorite books lately were Sharp Objects, Gone Girl, and Dark Places all by Gillian Flynn. Love most all books by Jodi Picoult also. The Help is a necessity if you haven't read it. Room also is a must read. We need to talk about Kevin was great but really dark if you like that type of reading.

Room also is a must read. We need to talk about Kevin was great but really dark if you like that type of reading.

 

It took me FOREVER to get through We Need to Talk about Kevin. I didn't care at all for the style it was written but in the end it was so good. Definitely dark but thought provoking.

ETA: in light of the Newtown tragedy I feel like I should add a disclaimer. If you don't know what this book is about, but you're still emotional over Newtown, don't read it right now.

Ohhhh.... that is a good idea. I read it months ago, I do not suggest reading it now after what has happened in Newtown, glad you thought of that.
