Update on my Mom

Just thought I'd update-

Original Story:

"She started have mini strokes a few days ago. After some tests they found blockages in her brain and two aneurisms in her brain stem. They're not sure what to do at the moment. Her doctor is consulting with a team of surgeons about doing surgery, and she's on a blood thinner and aspirin regimen for the time being. She's been in great health so the strokes were a shock to begin with, we actually thought they were seizures until she started getting numbness in her face. =/ 

ETA- The surgeons are wanting to do something ASAP because if the blockages move or the aneurisms move to her brain it could kill her instantly." 


They decided to watch her for a few days and see what happened. They started her on a blood thinner and aspirin regimen to try to dissolver the blockages. So far she hasn't had another stroke, so they sent her home and told her to remain on the meds. She has to go back in a week to have all the scans redone to see if any of the blockages or aneurisms have moved (or dissolved like they hope.)


So for now my mom is home, freaked out, but optimistic. If nothing has changed in a week she will meet with a specialist to discuss surgery to remove the aneurisms. 

I appreciate your prayers and positive thoughts. Its been a stressful week thats for sure, and it really really helped to read your words of encouragement.

Oh goodness!  I think I missed your OP but I'm so glad to hear that she is home.  T&P that the blockages dissolve and she is feeling well soon!

Oh my goodness. I can't imagine the level of stress knowing that you have something like that in your brain that could hurt you at any moment, prayers for her! And for you guys too, has to be very stressful! Prayers for healing.

How scarey, I can't imagine. I am so sorry you at dealing with this. Sending tons of prayers your way.
