I agree with you here, and I think the show has already lost a lot of what has made it so great...
I was really hoping this season would be it, and that it would end with Ted meeting the mother. But now that there is going to be one more season, I really want him to still meet the mother at the end of this season. We started seeing scenes from that day 2 years ago! Let's get to it already...
While I love this show I've lost interest. I wouldn't blame Jason Segel if he hadn't have signed - he's so talented and this show seems dead-end to me at this point. It's lost touch and I totally don't get excited when he 'hints' that 'maybe' this is the mother. It's not! Who cares! I don't need to know her - or maybe it would be fun to know her and find out as a surprise, like ohhh and the girl I've been telling you about - THAT ONE was your mother so now you know.
It's just sad when good shows don't know when to quit and I'd rather have a solid season or two (ala "Freaks and Geeks" which is PERFECT) than something that drags...in a bad way.
