Gender

Hey ladies, I was just wondering how far along you all were when you found out the sex? I have my first ultrasound coming up on the 4th for dating. Right now, based on my last period, I'll be 15w1d at the time. Any chance??

why are you getting a dating u/s at 15 weeks??? dating u/s are most accurate before 12 weeks

I didn't get my first u/s until the anatomy scan at 19 weeks.  The most accurate read on gender is around 19-21 weeks (if LO cooperates)...but I've heard quite a few women say they've gotten predictions at 14-15 weeks that were confirmed at the a/s.  Good luck!

This one I didn't find out till 20 weeks,  but my first son I found out at about 15.  Boy's are easy to find out though,  if they say its a girl I wouldn't trust it.

I haven't seen a doctor yet. I saw a nurse practitioner to get established on December 4th and then I was supposed to only listen to the heartbeat at my last appointment which was on the 19th. BUT, my doctor left and they made me set up an appointment with radiology in the hospital on Jan 4th. So now that's what I'm waiting on

I have to wait the normal 20 weeks. Jan 29th...cant wait! But i have seen alot of ladies on here finding out at 15,16,17 weeks. Just depends on the practice you go to. My place wont do it before 20 weeks.

My office won't do anything till 20 weeks or after. Many places do sex prediction scans, but I have enough patience to wait until January 23rd.

Well, for me my insurance only covers my a/s unless they find one medically necessary. If I had to pay for this, I would definitely wait.

It's possible to find out that early if they can get a good shot.  It's easier to tell if it's a boy than a girl because you can't see a penis that isn't there but you can miss a penis if the angle is wrong, kwim?  But, there's a good chance your tech won't tell you even if they can tell.  Some won't provide that information until the a/s.  I just had an elective u/s done over the weekend at 15w1d (based on LMP, not ticker) and our little boy was clear as day :)

i was 20 weeks w/DS and we are scheduled for our 19 week appt. for this LO's gender scan.

Two of the women on my BMB were told 'boy' at an early scan and then found out they were having girls at the anatomy scan. So far, we haven't had any initial girl guesses turn out to be wrong.

Actually, they all have nubs in the earlier stages, but eventually the girls will lose theirs. So, it is more likely to mistake a girl for a boy rather than vice versa.

My first a/s at 19w they were pretty sure girl, but told us not to trust it. Got the same at the follow up a/s at 22w. I didn't get a confirmation that it was a girl until a growth scan at 29w.
