who else is considering 2 under 2?

Ok kimmer.... maybe this will get the board going a bit???

I know we have a few members that are already pregnant again but who else plans on getting pregnant and having 2 under 2?

H and I just started talking about timing out our second LO.  I'm thinking we'll start trying in August.  Part of me thinks I'm nuts since LO is SO active and we've had a few bumps in the road (bad reflux, dairy intolerance, distracted eater, EPing, etc.).  The other part of me would love to have them really close in age and can't wait to have another LO to cuddle.

No offense to anyone out there, this is just my current mindset.

I think if I worked, I would possibly do it. There was a time when Emery was 3 months old and I thought having another baby right away was a great idea. Now at 6 months old, I'm like what the eff was I thinking? There is no way I'm having another baby until this one can go to the bathroom on the toilet and is more self sufficient. Since I do 95% of the child rearing on my own, if I had 2 under 2 I would lose my mind. Really. I cant imagine.

With that said, to each their own. I dont judge anyone else's decision as long as I dont have to personally raise the kids.

Haha!  Yes, I'm mostly a SAHM (I do some online teaching from home).  I too am wondering how you care for 2 when they are so little and need you so much.  I don't want to wait too long plus my H is 4 years older than me and doesn't want to be me an "old dad".  I'm guessing we'll see how things are in August and then decide.  I know it is silly but I want to get pregnant around the same time of year as I did with LO so that I can just reuse my maternity clothes since I'll never wear them again after that.

It is worth a try!

I go back and forth on whether I want to have a second at all, my H doesnt want anymore he wants to be one and done. If we do have another it definitely wont  be 2 under 2. More power to those ladies that are going to have 2 under 2 but its just not for me.

No way.  First of all, we get a year of mat leave in Canada but we can`t just take it back to back.  If I want the paid mat-leave, I need to go back to work for a while.

Also, DD depends on me too much.  I can't imagine having 2 under 2.  I told DH that when DD is potty trained, that will be when we are ready to start trying for baby # 2.  So our kids will probably be about three years apart.

We are trying. That being said it took 14 months and IUI to get DS. I'm a nurse and work when I want. I work at a clinic and in ICU and work as needed at both places. We would like 3 children.

Umm are we the same people?? I was literally going to post the same thing then read this and was like ok well she already said it for me!

I always wanted 3, then after being pregnant went down to 2 and now somedays I wonder if I can even handle another one! I really want a girl though, so I would like to at least try for one, I would be happy with another boy though as well.  But FI would rather be one and done lol, me I am thinking if we do another Austin will be at least 3 before we start trying if not 4.

We're planning on trying for the next one when Milo turns 1, so it would be possible to have 2 under 2.

I figure that they're only little for a small period of time, in the grand scheme of things. I'd rather my kids be close in age.

If we had more money I totally would. The girl I nanny for is 13months older then dd. so I do it 5 days a week. Granted its different when it's 24/7. But I'm lucky we can afford the one we have at the moment.

My sister had 2 under 2...didn't seem like fun to me, although I'm sure other people LOVE it. We will wait until T is close to potty training to try.  I just can't have two in diapers. And I'd like T to be in preschool some days so I don't always have 2 with me.

We are debating when to start trying again. I think we may start next fall. DH wants them close together and would like to be done having them by the time he's 32 (he's almost 29). Why 32- I have no clue lol!

I figured I will wait until LO is a year. That way I have a chance to get my body back and not have to lose a whole lot more on top of what I already have.  DH just turned 40 and I would like a big family.  Plus I don't want him to be the one kids mistake for LO's grandfather :P

No way. H wanted to try in six months but no way to that. I don't wasn't to be pregnant again and I do all the work myself, two under two is too much work.

Definitely couldn't handle 2u2, my SIL did this and it stressed me out just being around them! My OB also advised me to wait awhile before having another one, since we had a lot of complications during my pregnancy and Graham's birth. I would like to try for another one once I get him potty trained and a little more self sufficient.

We are done though.  I'd never do 2u2 and that puts me at 43 by the time we try again.  Just not in the cards for us.  But that's ok.

We're going to start trying in March. It took 26 months and a cycle of ivf to get pregnant, so it is likely to be difficult for us again. We could get pregnant naturally, or maybe not. So we figure we'll give it a little time to try before going to fertility treatments again.

Ha hell no. We will try for number 2 when Dagny is maybe 3. I'm a SAHM and couldn't imagine caring for 2babies right now. There is no way I could give either kid the attention they need and deserve. Plus this way we are unlikely to pay for 2 kids in college.

I need to get through my clinical year at school first (jan 2013-dec 2014)...then we will probably start trying. That would put LO at about 2 and a half

We waited until DS1 was about 19 mos old. He was pretty well behaved up until his 2nd birthday...

2u3 is hard enough! Terrible twos exist!! lol

On that note, we're done.

If we weren't planning to move next summer (therefore change insurance), we would be trying now.  Flvking pre existing condition rules.

We will hopefully be trying as soon as we figure out whether we will have an insurance gap, so if it happens fast then we will get lucky and get 2u2.

If you are just worried about the preexisting condition factor pregnancy is never considered one when you switch insurances. But if you are worried about a gap and just not being covered, then yeah...I can't imagine not having insurance at all while pregnant!
We are getting married next December so we will wait until after that and then start trying again. So no 2u2 for us!

When he wa first born, I felt like I had the worst case of Stockholm Syndrome in the world. But today, we had so much fun shopping, I was thinking I would love another, and being old it would have to happen soon. Then I remembered I was poor and he started having teething issues again, and I sobered up.

DS #1 was 17.5 months when DS #2 was born. 2u2 was very physically demanding - they just both had so many needs still, I frequently had to carry both of them, and I felt like I was pretty much always changing & washing diapers (we did cloth). But in a way their needs were simpler - exhausting, but uncomplicated. This time, my oldest was almost 4 and my middle one was 2.5 when the baby was born. Although they're more self-sufficient in some ways (both are potty trained), in other ways they're more difficult. My mom duties are now more emotionally exhausting than physically exhausting - dealing with tantrums, whining, sibling squabbles, and demands for my attention.

Bottom line, no matter when you decide to introduce a new baby, there will be ups & downs! I'm glad we spaced them how we did. I'm also glad that we're done. Stick out tongue

OOH Girl, I feel ya!  The terrible twos are real, very real.  Those who have LO's who managed to escape them, I hate you (haha)!  My two and a half year old screams and cries 10 times more than my 6 month old,

The only way there will be number 3 is if it is an unplanned surprise!

2u2, probably not.  2u3, maybe.  Definitely will not start trying until LO is a year old and we have moved into our next living space (we're currently in a fifth floor walk-up and I'm not doing that pregnant with a toddler, nope nope nope).

We are one and done unless we have an oops. Hubs will be 40 in 2014 and he already thought he was too old for Hanna.

If it were up to me I'd try next year towards the end of the year. It would be nice to be pregnant the same time.

I am considering it. I have little time left to have another one so that is always in the back of my mind. Some days I am so ready for another one but then other days where I think I am crazy for even thinking it. I have to lose 30 lbs before it is even an option for us.
