here is my french toast casserole recipe!!
ingredients:
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 cup milk
1 tbsp. vanilla
8 lightly beaten eggs
1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (you can leave this out for nut allergy)
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp ginger
1 loaf french bread or something similar, cut into chunks or slices
directions:
melt butter and mix with brown sugar in a large casserole pan
layer bread pieces on top of mixture
mix together all other ingredients minus the nuts, and pour on top of bread
sprinkle with nuts
bake at 350 for 35 minutes.
i usually stir every 20 minutes to prevent too much browning and to bake more evenly, but you can just top with foil if you want.
also, if you prepare the night before make sure you let it sit for out for 10-15 minutes so it can get to room temp before you bake it.
also, if you want crispier pieces you can let the bread sit out the day before preparing so it will stale up a bit. my sister does this and its pretty good whichever way.
soooo yummy i want some RIGHT NOW.
