What's the one thing every couple must do before baby?

Ladies --

Now that you've been there, done that, please pass some advice our way. What do you feel is the one thing every couple must do before they have a baby?

Just enjoy the spontaneous trips and night dates/events. After LO now I don't go out after 6pm (at least not often). No trips to bars with friends, etc. Just enjoy the everyday quick decisions to jump in the car and go somewhere too. Now it's a little more effort.

Sorry, I couldn't resist it! They should take a road trip together and stop every hour for 15 to 20 minutes. It will prepare them for pregnant travel or newborn travel. It will also show each other if they can lean on one another for support.

All of the above - but I like the nice long trip idea best. The only trip we got to take alone was our honeymoon and it was wonderful. 

Enjoy just lounging around the house and watching TV and movies.

Go to the movies. God, I haven't been in almost 6 months...it's not always easy to get someone to watch your baby for 3 to 4 hours!

Start and finish any needed major home renovations.  We were so glad we finished our bathroom reno before the baby came, cannot imagine not having a toilet on the first floor with a newborn.

Finish the books you have been meaning to finish! 

Also, sex, and go to dinner and a movie.  Date nights are cherished around here.

Also, just tell your husband/wife/partner that you love them.  Once baby gets here, it is easy to forget to share the love with your spouse!

I agree with going to the movies!  DH and I keep seeing previews for movies and say how much we want to see that one and we never get to go!

Also, enjoy every single moment together when you are pregnant. It was the best 9 months of my life and I cherished every moment with my DH because I knew it would be the last time it was just us 2! Get in your cuddles :)

Clear your home of clutter! It sounds boring, but you have no idea how much stuff you will add to every room in your house once the baby comes. I wish I had gotten rid of more things we don't use or need, cleaned out cabinets and drawers, etc.

enjoy the freedom... before baby (and pregnancy) we went out every weekend. we would listen to bands, drink and just do whatever we pleased.  Im so glad that we had that kind of fun while we could and that I got the partying out of my system. Even if you get a night out when you have a LO you have to be able to function the next day Wink

All the above.  And a trip to an "adult" place like Napa, Vegas or an adult only resort.

Also, enjoy going to the gym.  Now I have to schedule gym time and only get there about twice a week.  I think it is also a good idea to be in your "best" shape before getting pregnant.  I went into the pregnancy about 20 lbs heavier than what I liked to be (mainly from IF treatment) and it was downhill from there.

DX: DOR & Fragile X premutation carrier
2011: FSH 13.3 & E 99; AMH 0.54 ~ 2nd FSH 6.2 E 40's AFC: 8
BFP from Clomid/IUI ~ Pre-e and IUGR during pregnancy ~ LO born 9/4/12
Feb. 2013: AMH less than 0.16 (undetectable) ~ FSH 6.8 (normal)
What is going on with my body?

Work through any long standing issues. Also, talk about parenting philosophies and birth. Mh and I had horrible fights while I was pregnant bc of our difference of opinion on birth. We still argue about it.

Save money. DH I started saving when I discovered I was pregnant to help buy supplies needed for LO that we didn't receive at our baby shower and to help with bills as needed since I was on unpaid maternity leave and then part time.

Also, take a c section information class as well as other birthing and prenatal classes you can.
