GTKY: Christmas?!

I'm just killing time 'til I have to start all my other dishes for Christmas Eve dinner .... My hubby rubbed garlic butter all over our turkey and it smells so delicious in the house!  Can't seem to work up an appetite, though!

BFP on 4/19/13, EDD 12/29/13, u/s 5/20/13 showed baby with heart rate of 180 bpm! Yea, baby!
u/s 6/4/13 showed a wiggly baby with a heart rate of 176!

1. Christmas tree - real or fake? Fake .... allergic to the real thing!

2. Worst Christmas gift ever received? I've gotten lots of sucky things.  Probably the things I'd never in a million years use, like a dollar store candle or a coffee mug.

3. Do you wrap or buy gift bags? I'm a wrapping fool.  The only thing I used gift bags/boxes for was bottles of wine for my father-in-law and sister-in-law.

4. What's your theme? We went red & green this year.  Next year, it's going to be a wine themed Christmas at our house!

5. Favorite Christmas food & drink? Mashed potatoes & gravy & sparking cider!

6. Favorite Christmas movie & song? It's a tie between Christmas Vacation & Love Actually.  I love Bing Crosby's White Christmas or Silver Bells.  My faves!

7. What's your tree topper? We have a star .... maybe next year it'll be a bottle of cab sauv! lol.

8. When do you open presents -- Christmas Eve or Christmas Day? Open presents on Christmas Eve and open Santa presents on Christmas morning.

9. Do you mail out Christmas cards? No .... I am a slacker.

10.  What's your least favorite thing about this holiday season? Crowds of people .... someone is just asking to punched one of these days ... lol, especially as grouchy as I've been lately!

4. What's your theme? This is the first year at our house so "stuff our parents gave us when we moved out"

5. Favorite Christmas food & drink? All the appies yum!

6. Favorite Christmas movie & song? "Baby its cold outside" and movie Elf

7. What's your tree topper? We don't have anything yet but it will probably be a star

8. When do you open presents -- Christmas Eve or Christmas Day? We open one on Christmas Eve and the rest  Christmas morning

9. Do you mail out Christmas cards? Yes we do! I hate it and this year we only received one card back.

10. What's your least favorite thing about this holiday season? The stores.

1. Christmas tree real or fake? Real! We have a fake from when I was single but it stays in the closet.

2. Worst Christmas gift ever received? Hmm. I can't really think of anything.

3. Do you wrap or buy gift bags? Wrap, unless something is really weirdly shaped and I can't find a box to fit it.

4. What's your theme? Um... Don't have one.

5. Favorite Christmas food drink? Eggnog. If not pregnant, spiked with amaretto. As for food... My aunt's lasagna, which we just had tonight.

6. Favorite Christmas movie song? Miracle on 34th Street, the original black and white version. As for song, probably Silver Bells.

7. What's your tree topper? Would be an angel, given by our surrogate grandparents last Christmas, but the ceiling where our tree is is too low for it.

8. When do you open presents Christmas Eve or Christmas Day? Used to be both, now just Christmas Day.

9. Do you mail out Christmas cards? Nope. Maybe once our new addition comes along.

10. What's your least favorite thing about this holiday season? All the running around. My family, two families since my parents divorced when I was a kid, is in Massachusetts and DH's are in Maryland. We have so many places to be, it's nice to see everyone but the running around sucks. I think our LO will be a good excuse to cut back on the travel somewhat next year.

TTC since Aug 2011, RE since May 2012. Dx: PCOS,endo, postprandial hypoglycemia DH: SA 1 - low everything, 2- low everything, 3 - good, but WBC, 4 - lost and/or damaged at lab, 5 - low everything July - Letrozole = BFN Aug - letrozole #2 = BFN Sep - NEW RE!! YAY!!!! Move to IVF w/ICSI - ER on Nov 28 - 34 eggs! FX for good fert report!

I wish I was! My friends LOVE when I tell the story and will bring it up whenever someone new is around. Let's just say they are a super open family and I'm a bit more conservative.  Again it was super awkward.

2. Worst Christmas gift ever received? A store-bought crochet pillow

3. Do you wrap or buy gift bags? Both, depends on the gift but I prefer to wrap.

4. What's your theme? No particular theme. The ornaments on our tree are different shades of green & red, some gold, some white and a couple of cute random ones.

5. Favorite Christmas food & drink? My mom makes these peanut butter balls dipped in chocolate at Christmas. Soooo good!! Fav drink is the gingerbread latte at Starbucks.

6. Favorite Christmas movie & song? Rudolph (the old school one with claymation!) Fav song is O Holy Night.

7. What's your tree topper? A silver star

8. When do you open presents -- Christmas Eve or Christmas Day? Usually both (divorced parents for both DH & me so we have to visit on both days)

9. Do you mail out Christmas cards? Yep!

10.  What's your least favorite thing about this holiday season? Don't have one. I have a brand new niece (12-12-12!!) and this little squirt of my own. :)

1. We don't have one this year, but if we did it'd be real.  I'm picky like that. lol

2. None of mine seem so bad compared to yours!!!!  But I guess the worst one was when my boyfriend gave me lingerie despite the fact that I specifically said anything but lingerie was good. lol

3. I used to always wrap and get all fancy, but the last few years we've all done gift bags-- saves money since we just reuse them.  :)

4. We were going to have a peacock themed tree (it's way prettier than it sounds), but again... we ended up not doing one this year.

5. Hmm.... this is hard....  my family's Ice Box Cookies ... they are Pecan Sandies but they're a family recipe from Germany.  :)  Love them!

6. Elf all the way and Mary Did You Know?  (makes me cry normally but now it starts me sobbing like there's no tomorrow)

7. We usually have an angel on top.

8. Well - I open up what I can talk people into allowing on Christmas Eve, but we're not supposed to until Christmas.  I have patience / surprise issues.

9.  Good lord, no we don't send cards.  lol

10.  My favorite thing about THIS holiday season is that I'm cooking a mini-me!  :D

1. Christmas tree real or fake? Fake DH is allergic and I'm far too lazy to vacuum up needles every day.

Not for myself, but my MIL got my 4 year old Celiac kid a box of red velvet cupcake mix. He can't eat it. I'm regifting it.
3. Do you wrap or buy gift bags? Wrap! I love to wrap presents.
4. What's your theme?
5. Favorite Christmas food drink? Food broccoli cheese casserole. Drink coffee with fun flavored creamer. This year I bought Italian Sweet Cream.
6. Favorite Christmas movie song? Movie is Elf. Thanks Mr. Narwahl. Song is Santa Clause is Coming To Town.
7. What's your tree topper? Star
8. When do you open presents Christmas Eve or Christmas Day? Christmas Pajamas on Christmas Eve, everything else Christmas Day.
9. Do you mail out Christmas cards?I buy them, but have never actually gotton around to sending them.
10.What's your least favorite thing about this holiday season? Being nauseous is absolutely killing me, and I'm sad that this is the second Christmas in a row I won't be able to have a glass of wine with my sisters. But it's all worth it in the end.

2. Worst Christmas gift ever received? This year at our regifting party at school I got a holiday dickie (one of those fake collar/shirt top things). it was hilarious and I hid it in the Spanish teacher's room.

3. Do you wrap or buy gift bags? Wrap, mostly.

4. What's your theme? A theme at Christmas? I don't get it. We don't have one, I guess. Or our theme is cluttered apartment.

5. Favorite Christmas food & drink? Steak and mashed potatoes (a family tradition). Cinnamon dulce latte.

6. Favorite Christmas movie & song? Love Actually and The Friendly Beasts

7. What's your tree topper? Don't have a topper. My parents' topper has been this doll that my grandfather's ex-wife gave me on the one Christmas they were married. Weird, eh?

8. When do you open presents -- Christmas Eve or Christmas Day? Day.

9. Do you mail out Christmas cards? Nope. Too lazy.

10.  What's your least favorite thing about this holiday season? Crazy crowds and traffic. Also, it's my first Christmas not with my family, so that's a little hard.

I always overspend!! and the stress of driving all over to try to see everyone, especially this year - my husband and I just move to a town that is about 2 hours away from the rest of our family so we are at home to celebrate this morning then we will have to drive for 2 hours to see the rest of our family
