How many of you..

are prepared for your water breaking?  I haven't done anything like something for the mattress or the car, or bringing a towel for work or extra clothes or anything.  I know most people go into labor without their water breaking, but then I see a couple of posts about people's water breaking, and I wonder if I should be more prepared.  I always thought it would be a slow leak though. If I was at work- they have towels, but I wouldn't really have pads or other pants or anything.

Ill admit all I did was mention maybe putting a shower liner over the mattress to DH. He didn't seem concerned so I guess I'm not either?

Stupid question: how bad is amniotic fluid for furniture? Or is it just gross out factor...?

I did nothing to prepare for my water breaking. When it broke, it was like Niagara falls. Luckily I was home and had access to towels I could just shove down my pants. If it would make you less anxious, maybe just throw a hand towel into your car for a just in case. The waterproof pads and all that seem unnecessary, to me.

I'm not worried about it. If it breaks it breaks and if it gets on something it gets on something. I thought about putting a towel in the car but I will spend more time at home now than out. My mom lived through her water breaking at Toys R US and my grandma lived through it breaking at the grocery so I figure I can handle anything too.

We're going to a friends house for Christmas today, I'll take a towel to leave in the car just incase. I'd be really ticked off if we had to drive home if I'm leaking on the seat. For the most part I don't worry about it though because I know a lot of women's water doesn't even break naturally.

I have a towel and trash bag in my car in case my water breaks at work. However, I'm not taking extra clothing or anything. I'll just waddle my wet butt to the car and sit on my towel. As for the bed, we have a mattress protector and I'm hoping if I felt a gush I'd get up quick enough to avoid any damage.

As non concerned I am about water breaking as A) it's not very common and B) we are pregnant, if it happens it happens! I'm also a neat /organizational freak. We have a mattress protector on our bed (we've only had it for 6 months) and I have a towel and garbage bag in both our vehicles.

We just bought a new mattress last week, so I did go ahead & invest in a nice waterproof mattress cover for it... other than that I haven't done anything else. Probably within the next week or two I'll also put some large garbage bags & towels over the seats in my car.

I've done nothing! And im starting to worry because I work in a high school and I would just die if it happened there haha.  I've also heard it doesn't happen to many women so I'm trying not to worry about it.  I think I'm just in denial that it will happen to me, however my husband jokes and says were getting rid of the mattress if it happens in bed

LOL, I'm not. I figure if it breaks it breaks. I do worry about my bed and I have an allergy cover on it but doubt that will do much. I'm not a worrier when it comes to stuff like this. HAHA
