Falling asleep while nursing and another question

Me. Not the baby. I literally start to pass out into dream land when we start feeding. I'll be mid conversation with my husband and my head will roll back and I'm out. Its getting better. She's 5 days old.

My next question. I feed her every 2 hours or so. Many times I have to wake her up to eat. She will latch on at night and suck for 5 min and we will both fall asleep. She will keep my nipple in her mouth and just chill there. She will unlatch and lay her head on my chest and 10 min later she's whimpering because she's hungry.

During the day its no problem. Today I fed her at 8:45 and then got to my parents around 10. I fed her again at 10:30 and THEN I felt so full after she nursed for 30 minutes so I pumped both sides. I got 5 ounces.

I am a FTM. I think its good I'm getting THAT much after nursing but on the other hand I'm worried about an oversupply.

Last night we fed about every 30 minutes for about 510 minutes.

Today we fed 8:45, 10:30, 12:00, 2:30, and about to feed again. I think we fed so much before 2 because she was hungry from last night?

Well, to prevent oversupply don't pump-at least not until empty.

Otherwise it all sounds pretty normal. Keep up the good work.

I fall asleep too!! That oxytocin is no joke! She pretty much sleeps on me all night at this point. I prop my arm up on a pillow and lean back. She is so content like this and I actually get to sleep!!

Oh my gosh, the falling asleep is crazy isn't it?  I noticed right from the start that I would immediately start dozing off within seconds of starting to nurse - I felt like I had narcolepsy or something.  I asked the nurse before we left the hospital and she said part of it was dehydration from the birthing process.  Drinking more water didn't seem to help though.  It stopped after the first week or two (except at night when I'm obviously just doing it because of exhaustion)!

My son nursed every two hours or so in the beginning, now were at every three or four. Whatever I pump goes into the freezer stash.
