When do you pack for hospital?

I am at 33 weeks and one of my friends told me I should already be packed??  Isnt it early?

I started packing my hospital bag(s) around 36 weeks and am still in the process now at 38. I tend to take a very long time to pack and keep taking things in and out,  buying more stuff, and lots of it is going to have to be last minute anyway. But I tend to be an overpacker!

BFP #2 Dec 2011 blighted ovum--(D&C @8 weeks-Trisomy 16).
BFP #3 LO arrived on December 29, 2012!

38 weeks. My list is very very very short, I could probably do it on the way out the door, but my DH is panicking.

I think everyone is different.  But I would say around 37w is a good time to start packing.

I started packing a few weeks ago... maybe around 29w, but only because we aren't going to have a nursery in this house since we're moving about a week after I deliver, and I needed something baby-related to do! I had the itch :p

Baby's bag is fully packed. Mine has a few things in it, like a breastfeeding pillow and some travel size toiletries, but I will wait to finish until I get much closer. Most of what I'm packing for myself, I'm still using like nightgowns and bras. I did make a check list though, in the event that we need to rush out the door so I know what to grab or have DH grab.

Started packing the weekend before we turned 37 weeks. I'll probably spend some time tomorrow or over Christmas reviewing what we have in there and adding last minute items. I have a list of about 10 items to add to the bag last minute since they are things we use pretty much daily.

I was packed at 30w but I'm likely to go early. I was totally caught off guard with DS1 who I had at 35w,4d and I'm not letting that happen again!

I packed at 35 weeks last time. I'm mostly packed at 32 weeks this time but only bc it's twins. It's quick to throw anything else I need in the bag. I over packed last time.

With DD, I'm glad that I started collecting things like a nursing tank, nursing bra, lanolin, etc. early since I went into spontaneous PTL at 33w5d.  

This time I have all that stuff in the house, so I'll probably get it all together but not officially pack for a bit.

Last time I didn't pack ahead of time, and forgot a bunch of basic stuff when I needed to rush off to the hospital (I was 38 weeks). I'm a few days shy of 38 weeks, and I finally managed to pack most of my bag today, and I hope to finish it tomorrow. I really should have started packing it earlier. We're in the middle of a move, and my husband has boxed away some stuff we needed, like the camera charger and my phone charger.

I think 33 weeks is pretty dang early unless you are high risk or a health concern that could put you into preterm labor.

I have only started to think about packing, but I won't actually start until about 36-37 weeks.

Last time I packed at 28 weeks, but that was really just because I had a trip to labor and delivery. This time, I keep thinking I need too, but still haven't.

Since I had an unexpected visit to L & D this week (@ 33 weeks), I am now pretty much packed in case we have to go back.

 

Before that I was planning on packing a bag over winter break. I already had a running list of what I needed, which made it easier on DH when he had to run home and grab stuff our second day in the hospital.

I "packed" around 37 weeks, but my bag is far from complete. I have a list of things to grab before we head to the hospital like my toiletries & camera because I use most of the items I'll need to bring.

I'm 33 weeks today and have a list with the bag ready for me, and i just throw bits in it here and there. I did it so i know what i need to get at the store without having to rush, but i like to get things done early. LO's bag is packed too, all we need to get is the car seat which we pick up Jan 17th.
