Experiences with tandem nursing?

Hey ladies--I drop by this board regularly, but wanted to ask for experiences regarding tandem nursing. DS is 18 months, and will be about 20 months when this LO is born. He weaned about 6-8ish weeks ago very gradually (his choosing). I guess I'm curious for those of you that weaned during pregnancy--did your older child ask to nurse again after the birth? Did they get jealous of the new baby? How did tandem nursing influence their relationship? Any other information or advice you can offer?

I'm not entirely sure how I feel about tandem nursing. I guess I plan to just follow LO's lead and see where we end up.

My DD didn't wean during pregnancy but I'm currently tandem nursing her and DS. She's older though... Will be 4 in January and DS is 3.5 months. She DID cut back in third tri but I forced that due to PTL contractions. She picked up again after he was born.

I'll add that I'm starting to have a slight aversion to nursing her now. I bug her to stop after about 3 to 5 min. It just feels totally different and her latch just really bothers me now. It's like she plays with my nipple or something.

It will be bittersweet when she stops but I don't think I'll miss it. But I also realize I likely have at least another couple if years of nursing ahead of me, if not more.
