Congrats to all the other moms and good luck to those still waiting on their LOs! Sonja Aimee arrived on her due date after 6 hours of natural, med-free childbirth. I delivered at a free standing birth center, but had to be transferred to a hospital for a retained placenta. Baby stayed with DH while the docs manually (hurt worse than labor) removed the placenta and fixed me up. After that ordeal, I was reunited with my little one, who is sweet and wonderful. The last two weeks have been difficult but rewarding. Infant care is not second nature to me so I spend a lot of time flumoxed and hoping for the best. Breastfeeding has been good, and I think that it has a lot to do with the Mother's Milk tea that I've been drinking to ensure a plentiful supply. I recommend it to moms who are having a supply issue.
I will also recommend the 3-in-1 Tiny Love Rocker Napper. It's a little bassinet with vibrate feature. With the vibrate on, Sonja will nap in the bassinet. Without it, she wakes up after 20 minutes and just wants to be held. The birth ball is also good for bouncing her into submission and my DH likes that a lot. She's been sleeping pretty well in her regular bassinet at night next to our bed. We can get almost 6-8 hours with just a couple of breast feeding sessions. Last night was a cranky one, though.
Wishing all moms a restful Christmas Eve night! Merry Christmas and happy hannukah!
