I should be showering!

Hubby went out with the baby (Walmart is open and he's itching to buy a new video game with a gift card I got him - big kid, I swear...) and I should be showering!

But instead, of course, I'm consulting Dr. Google and freaking out.

I always had a great sex drive, more than average I'd say.  But ever since getting Mirena....it's gone.  Just gone!  I'll have sex with poor DH maybe 2x a month...and I won't typically enjoy it or even ask for my own "ending" if he's done before I am.

I'm also breaking out a lot.  And barely losing weight despite BF'ing and dieting like a fiend.  I'm also really mad at everyone, all the time it seems (except LO, she's perfect and will never do anything wrong...LOL)

A lot I read online says:  Yes!  This is definitely Mirena and you should have it out!  But my doctor says: Nope, can't be.  You must be overeating and under too much stress and suffering from lack of sleep.

What do you ladies think??? (Ok, running for that shower while I still can!!!)

This is just my own experience, but I too had everything you described. When I had the mirena removed within a week I felt like myself again. So glad I had mine removed. Some women it works for great and others it doesn't. I wasn't a fan of it.

I don't have experience with this however IMO if you are not comfortable with it have it removed.

I don't have Mirena but I have had lots of bad reactions to different hormonal birth control. Some caused me to cry at EVERYTHING, some made me gain weight, or break out, or feel depressed...point being, hormonal BC affects everyone differently and I think it's totally possible that could be the problem. Can you see a different doctor in the practice, or just a different doctor? I found switching GYNs made a huge difference because I found one who believed me when I told her how strongly hormones affected me.

My midwife told me that while this is one of the most popular forms of BC, it DOES have alot of these side effects in some people.  I ended up shying away from this because of what she told me.

She also said that she used it herself for a short amount of time, and had these same issues. Removed it, and everything went back to normal.  Just messes with some people and not others I guess.
