Baby Baxter

Inlaws of my inlaws just had a baby last night. They named him Baxter. It was all I could do not to ask "like the dog's name?"

What makes this name even more special is the middle name, Holiday. Because he was born so close to Christmas.

I feel bad for saying this, but I kind of like Baxter, I just can't fathom it on a person. Holiday doesn't do it for me either.

Baxter was the front runner for one of dh's cousin's babies. Luckily, last minute they changed it to Patrick. Though I'm sure the Anchorman reference won't last forever, I think it's an awkward name.

My friends DD is named Holiday Rose and it really works for her.

DH's awful cousin's name is Baxter. He's one of the most obnoxious people I've ever met. And Holiday is bad too.

I don't think Baxter is that bad, people name their dogs 'people' names all the time, so I don't consider this to be strictly an animal name. It sounds a lot like Dexter actually.

Now what I did think immediately was that if this kid turns out to be a gay Broadway singer, Baxter Holiday would be a fantastic stage name!

I actually kind of like it. The kid had better be a badazz, though, because I feel like any person carrying the name would have to be.
