Anyone have a good night?

Seems like a lot of you ladies have had a rough Christmas Eve. Anyone do anything awesome?

I've been sewing my quilt most of the day, and watching movies. I made it through Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 1 and 2, and just started Love, Actually.

Not too shabby!

mine wasn't too bad. I've kept myself busy all day cooking. I only cried once but only b/c DH gave me a necklace with a little angel holding a birthstone of what he thought was for August but it was dark green not peridot. I would never tell him that & I'm going to wear it proudly b/c he spen a lot of time picking it out for me. I love that man. Now I'm watching "A Christmas Story". You really cant be in a bad mood when thats onSmile.

BFP 12/17/2011,EDD 8/23/12,ectopic discovered 12/29/11 at 6 weeks recieved methotrexate

Glad you had fun! You inspired me to watch that movie the other night. [ETA: Love, Actually, not HP... Sorry!]

DH is still sick. [That's the bad part.] Scrapped our plan to attend the fancy schmancy party my in laws traditionally have on Christmas Eve, where every year we make awkward small talk with their friends. Instead, we exchanged our little gifts [and I gave him the angels in my siggy, which we hung on the tree]. Since he needed to sleep, the mutt and I went over to my parents' house. My brother and sister in law and grandma were there. We squeezed into the living room and watched "White Christmas." I was wearing PJs and an ugly Christmas sweater. 'Twas not too shabby and even pretty fun.

[re the angels] I'm not really the "our babies are now angels in heaven type," but DH sort of is, and I thought it'd be nice to have a tangible reminder of what we've been through and our hope for the future.

I've had a nice quiet day and now I'm snuggling with my animals and watching It's a Wonderful Life.

It's sort of a double-edged sword not having family nearby, but this year I really appreciate the quiet. 

TTC on and off since April 2007. IUI#1 (50mg Clomid + Trigger) 3/14. BFP 3/25 at 11dpo. No heartbeat at 8 weeks on 4/26, D&C 4/27. IUI #2 7/22 (50mg Clomid +Trigger)= CP. IUI #3 8/16 = BFN. IUI#4 9/14= BFN. IVF#1 started 10/31; cancelled 11/15. New clinic; 1st visit 12/26. IVF #1 (take 2) cancelled. IVF#1 (take 3)Feb. 2013! 2/9/13 ER = 25 eggs. 24 M/22F. 5dt (SET)2/14. 2/25= BFP! Beta 372!

After lots of tears this morning and just feeling blue. DH and I went to our local bar for a little Christmas gathering. The owner is great and quite a few of our friends were there so it definitely helped my mood.

Christmas eve was the traditional Slovak meal at DH's grandparents house. It was better than expected only had one sad moment when his grandfather blesses the grandchildren with honey and I was reminded how our baby would have been a big deal next Christmas.

Overall the day definitely got better and I am feeling less depressed.

I know I'm a newbie especially to this board but I'm thankful for the encouragement and strength I glean from all of you amazing women.

I hear ya. I miss them terribly, but today was not a day I wanted to hang out and be festive.

Mines been pretty good.  We watched Christmas Vacation this afternoon.  A quiet family Christmas with just the 3 of us tomorrow, been looking forward to it all year...even moreso since the m/c.  Yay for not having to answer the nosy questions and not having to schlep all over to see everyone who wants us to visit.

Not a bad night here. I did have to work today and I always close Christmas Eve becasue we dont have any family traditions. DH is at work so I'm home alone with the furbabies. I just finished wrapping all my gifts, and I'm watching A Christmas Story on TV (and I'll probably watch it at least 3 more times bewtween now and tomorow night).I wouldn't call it an awesome night, but its low key, which is all I want this year.

It's been an okay night!  I'm sick (boooo), but I baked tomorrow's breakfast, handed out our new jammies, and we played board games while we waited on the oven.  His parents came over for a quick visit, since we're skipping the big hurrah tomorrow.

We couldn't visit MIL and FIL because we are getting over colds and FIL is on chemo.  I was really bummed and expected tonight to be a huge letdown but it turned out well.  Cheese fondue, candlelight church service, beef broth fondue, a visit from BIL and SIL to exchange gifts (they live 1.5 hours away but were driving through on their way back from vacation), hot cocoa, candy cane chocolate chip cookies and now watching Love Actually.

Today turned out better than I expected. DH let me open a stocking stuffer, which was a Beyonce DVD. So I sat in the living room wrapping presents and watching that for a couple of hours. We're driving home from dinner at my parents now. It was nice to visit with my mom.

I had a pretty crappy day, but building a very ghetto balcony snowman with the hubs, followed by hot chocolate and watching It's a Wonderful Life was a nice way to bring in the-holiday-that-shall-not-be-named. (Thanks, car, for the movie recommendation!)

We hung out with family we hadn't seen in a while and made tamales. Thats always fun, especially when we get to eat them right after! Today is harder than yesterday as I should have known everyone would be posting pics of their kids and presents on FB.

 

I wish I would have seen the FB warning beforehand as it would have saved me a few tears. My lil Athena would have been almost 7 months. This sucks!

I had a good time with FIs family.

Until the end of the night when I was crying pretty hard and got a gushing nose bleed... Not awesome.

Christmas Eve was awesome.  It was just me, my mom, and DH.  XMAS day was not as bad as I thought.  I think people might have been warned, thank goodness!   DHs SIL that I found out was due around me was really great and did not mention it to me at all.  The hard moment for me was DH carrying around his nephew who is 1. His nephew looks so much like him and I kept thinking about how that's what it might have been like.  It was pretty heartbreaking,  I'm home and XMAS is over now for us, thankfully.  So glad to be done with the family party.  Now I can relax.
