Help me pick out a sewing machine

DH is getting me a sewing machine for Christmas but I have no clue why I am looking for... I'm looking for something simple to use and under 200 and something that can do embroidery...

I don't think you're going to find a decent embroidery machine that cheap. I got the Brother Se400 and its a great base model that hasn't had too much of a learning curve. They are around 300.

Ok stupid question what exactly is a monogramming foot? I found one that comes with one for 160 and I have no clue what that means...
