Weigh gain

Dd weighed 8lbs 14oz at birth, 9lb5oz at 2 weeks and now 11lbs 6oz at 4 weeks. She's EBF and our pedi said she'd probably gain 12lbs a month. Would u be concerned that she gained 2lbs in 2 weeks?

Was your pedi concerned?? I dunno, what are you supposed to do, not feed LO? As long as baby is gaining weight, and my pedi isn't concerned.. I wouldn't be worried

That should be 1 to 2 lbs a month...not 12!

We haven't seen the pedi, I just weighed her naked on my sisters baby scale that she uses for her twins weight checks. I was talking to DH about and we figured the same thing, what are we supposed to do, not feed her?! She's been going 3 hrs bw feedings except for the last 2 days where she seems to eat a lot but I figured she was going through a growth spurt.

Every baby is different. Blanket statistics on weight gain are difficult when it comes to babies for that reason. She could go the next 2 weeks and not put on any weight or she could pack on another 2 lbs. I know familes who have babies that gain weight crazy quick and some whose babies stay small for a while. I wouldn't be worried. :D

This is similar to my LO. She has been gaining about 2 oz a day. She was just a little peanut at birth, 6 lbs 5 oz, I figure she's trying to make up for it. My pedi said I can go longer between feedings . I also EBF, but try telling that to a ravenous little baby. I've decided not to worry about it. From what I read you can't really overfeed a BF baby.

Everything is a range abd average with babies. I wouldn't think twice about it with EBF. I would be proud, pleased and keep up the good work!

My daughter gained 3 lbs in 3 weeks and pedi wasn't remotely worried. He actually said, sounds like she's a great eater.  I EBF as well.

She was born 8lbs 2oz and then was 8lb 10 oz at 1 week appt  Just had her 1 month appt yesterday morning and she was 11lbs 10 oz!!! :)  and she also grew over 3 inches.  We think they didn't measure her accurately at the hospital though.. supposedly she was born 20.5 inches and was 23.75 yesterday.
