It's official: Milo James

Well, my "bedrest" idea yesterday failed haha.

Baby boy was born at 10:31 pm on 12/23.

We were at DHs grandparents and I had only gotten up from the couch twice. I was sitting there and felt some leakage. I went to the bathroom hoping it was pee, put some tp in my undies to act as a pad and sat back down. I felt more later and had soaked through. We left, bc we were leaving regardless and I told DH. We were having his mom and siblings over for pizza so I told his sisters when we got to my house and said I hoped it wasn't fluid. I felt more though and soaked through panty liners 2 times. I cried bc I didn't want him to have a Xmas eve bday. I laid down bc I was having contractions. This was ab 7 pm. They were every 25 minutes. We left about 8:15 or so and I was rating my pain at 10/10 on our 45 minute drive. Got to triage at 9, pain kept getting worse. I was 45 cm 80. They said with my every 2 min ctx's there probably wouldn't be time for epidural. Got in my room ab 9:30 probably and my pain was unbearable. No epidural for me bc you have to get a liter of fluids and lab results back. Nurses were working together to get everything set up. The resident didn't leave my room.

He was born after 3 very frequent contractions med free and not by my choice! However, I did feel great afterwards. So different from Danica's 18 hour labor and 3 hours of pushing. He was 8 lbs even! and 20.5 inches long. Nursing is going ok. No name yet, hopefully by tonight though : I'm leaning towards Milo though. It's bw Milo, Lane, and Archer btw.

Danica hasn't been up yet bc she's doing Xmas stuff but she'll be here early this evening. I can't wait!

Congratulations!  I've known so many people that ended up with really fast second time labors, like within minutes of making it to the hospital, scrambling to get out of triage.  If I go on my own this time I'm considering not spending much time at home.  Can't wait to hear his name and see some pics.  Know that D will love him!!

Congratulations!

I'll take med-free and fast over an epidural and lots of sitting around.  Connor was born a little over 2 hours after my water broke so I feel your pain.  Literally.

Glad you feel great!  12/23 is a great birthday!  My BIL is a 12/23 baby and has no complaints :).

I agree. My sister's birthday is the 21st and people are already out shopping so she gets a ton. Plus my family wants to make sure that her birthday doesn't get swept up with Christmas so she always gets way more presents and a party.

ETA: Congrats and I too love the name Milo.
