I dislike Lee as a first name. I've seen it as a middle and last name, but never as a first name.

I think it sounds fine, but the Confederate/white supremacist connections would keep me from using it unless it were an important family name.

A guy on my hs swim team was named Lee and I always liked the name. Very plain but I never minded it. Maybe because its my middle name too haha!

I think if you give him a masculine middle name it will be fine.

Oh, I like Lee for a first name!  I have two friends names Lee.  I don't think of Confederates or dated at all.

I really like Lee for a first name!  I think it can be harder to find a good middle name though, but that's true of any one syllable first name.  DH always vetoes it for us.  I wouldn't use the middle name Roy with it (Lee Roy = dated redneck to me, even if it is the wonderful Jethro Gibbs real first name).
