fell down the stairs

So I fell down the stairs at my moms house a little bit ago. I didn't land on my belly, but my butt, and went down 5 stairs.

I'm pretty sore and my belly is tight but baby is moving.

Would you call your OB? I'm 2 hours from my hospital and didn't want to make a big deal of it if there isn't anything wrong, esp since baby is moving and I'm not bleeding or my water didn't break.

I would call just for peace of mind. It sounds like everything should be fine.

I fell twice, but not as bad as you did.I called the nurse and she asked if my water broke (no) or if I was bleeding (no). Then she asked me to drink something sweet and count the kicks for an hour afterwards. Baby was moving fine so they didn't want me to come in.

I was in a car accident a couple months ago, and baby was just fine.  I went to the ER just to make sure, and the doctor said that baby is very cushioned in there, like a pool inside of a bounce house, very soft and protected.  I then fell on all fours two days ago, upon tripping over the cat, and I am fine.  Just make sure baby is moving. :)

Ugh, that sucks! I'm sure baby is ok if she (he?) is moving and you didn't even land on your belly. I'm just seconding what all the other PPs said...

I'd call! I fell in my garage and on my belly about a month ago. They weren't concerned. He said if I fell down the stairs it would be a different story. So even though you are likely fine he did say the baby is super protected in there I'd call to be safe. Good luck!

I would call just in case. I fell in Lowes and landed on my rear end. They wanted me to come in and do a few tests in the labor ward. Better to be safe..

So sorry ! I fell down a flight of stairs 3wks before I was due with dd1. Put me into non productive labor for the last 3wks! I hope that doesn't happen for you :

call for piece of mind. My coworker had the same kind of fall when she was pregnant, her nurse said for the baby it was like going down a bumpy road and not to worry.

Ugh, so sorry!!  I hope your butt feels better!  I took a bad fall several weeks ago-landed on my butt, one leg under my butt, the other leg straight out.  I was fine at first and felt baby move.  However, I woke up at 1:00 in the morning with a horrible back ache/spasm-went to triage and they said it was a back spasm due to the fall-it took several hours for my muscles to react to it....so, if you start to feel some crazy back pain - I would head to triage and get it looked at.  My doctor gave me a shot that took the pain away and made me sleepy for a day.  I hope you feel better

I fell too while at work. The doc wanted to me to get checked out so I did, just for baby's sake (cause I was fine). I didn't have any bleeding, but they said they needed to do a test to make sure my placenta hadn't detached partially or completely. (that could be very bad). So I'm glad I didn't brush it off, but everything turned out ok.
