What's your Christmas (Eve) dinner?

If you make or attend a special Christmas  or Christmas Eve dinner what will it be?

 

It's just DH and the kids and I but we're having a nice dinner all the same.  I'm making: Fried brown sugar sauerkraut, carrots w/ green onions, glazed spiral ham, and homemade mac & cheese.  For dessert we're having Razzelberry pie and vanilla ice cream.  YUMMY

We are having ham, dressing, mash potatoes, broccoli and cheese casserole, salad, etc.....desserts. We have a lot of food, it's pretty much like thanksgiving.

An uncooked ham for which I'm still developing a plan, roasted Brussels sprouts with grapes and thyme, roasted potatoes, and Yorkshire puddings with gravy. Dessert will be raspberry trifle and pecan pie.

It'll only be the three of us but we'll have extra in case anyone we know doesn't have a place to go.

My family is Italian, so our normal Christmas Eve dinner we celebrate The Feast of the 7 Fishes.  Unfortunately, DH and I couldn't make it back home this year, so hes currently making homemade pizza!  Merry Christmas!!!

roast beef, gravy, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, corn, steamed broccoli....probably some other stuff.. my grandma and uncle are making dinner tonight. I'm bringing appies - I have a veggie platter, garlic sausage, pickles, crackers, chicken spring rolls and sausage rolls

It's just my DH and I but we're going all out.  We're having a beef rib roast (LOTS of left overs), scalloped potatoes, and braised leeks.  For dessert, I get a low carb apple tart, he gets peanut butter fudge.

It's just DH and I so we're getting our favorite chinese take-out. BUT, tomorrow, Christmas Day I'm going all out everything from scratch...Prime Rib with Red Wine Au Jous, Braised Fennel, Sweet and Sour Green Beans, and Smoked Gouda and Jarlsberg Potatoes Au Gratin. Cookies and chocolate for dessert! Yum!

We do a German spread of various meats, cheeses,and brochen bread on Christmas Eve.  Tomorrow is the good 'ol southern food starting with glazed ham

We're having low key pizza tonight, and I made cheesecake pecan pie. Tomorrow night I'm cooking prime rib, Italian green beans, mashed potatoes, rolls and eggnog bread pudding with rum sauce for dessert.

We're having pancakes and turkey sausage for dinner. Yep, it's what I'm craving.

It's funny though, because we're not having Christmas lunch/dinner, but having breakfast tomorrow. It was just the two of us for Thanksgiving, and we went all out and had so many leftovers, that we decided not to make a big fuss over tomorrow. So, breakfast it is. 

Holy heck, we're pregnant again! Please stay here with us little Otter.

We have a heartbeat! 138 beats per minute and measuring right on track. Ultrasound 11/7/12 showed heartbeat in the 160s. Negative MaterniT21 results ... Found out at Anatomy Scan we're Team Blue!

We have a carpet picnic in our living room every year on Christmas Eve. Normally we order a Swiss Colony or Hickory Farms gift pack and watch a movie and munch for an hour or two (plus imbibe an adult beverage or two or three). Since I'm trying to behave myself and avoid nitrates we skipped the gift pack and did cheese fondue this year. It turned out awesome and may become a new tradition.

We had rib eye steaks, loaded baked potatoes and broccoli.
Tomorrow, we will have garlic and Rosemary leg of Lamb, creamed onions and cheesy potatoes.

Hubby made cheese and spinach ravioli while he was baking the preggy reveal cupcakes and boiling eggs (he's making deviled eggs for Christmas).

I swear if I had to cook two things at once I would be a total nutcase.

This is a great deal like ours! We have "Party Food" on Christmas eve. The kids started the tradition years ago. We stay at in-laws all day Christmas eve and Christmas. My family is too far away.  Tonight we have lots of cheeses, cranberry salsa, crackers, veggies and hummus, and tons of desserts.

Christmas day I get up super early and make sausage & ham, gravy, biscuits, cinnamon rolls and cocoa (working on finishing touches now). All the children are allowed to come downstairs at 7am.

For lunch, we are having  lasagna, salad, and of course, more desserts.
If somebody thinks they're a hedgehog, presumably you just give 'em a mirror and a few pictures of hedgehogs and tell them to sort it out for themselves.-Douglas Adams Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker

Every thing else was from scratch pretty much but the pie was Marie Calendars all the way.  It's DHs favorite :-)

I've been craving Mexican food like crazy. So when MIL asked what we should do for Christmas eve I suggested tamales. Plus we had Sour Cream Chicken Enchiladas(best recipe I found on Pinterest http://joyful-mommas-kitchen.blogspot.com/2011/09/white-chicken-enchiladas.html) , Cheese Enchiladas, and chips and queso, rice and beans.

It's a family (polish) tradition to have a "feast" on Christmas eve with twelve dishes. In our family it's kinda morphed into a meal of our favorite appetizers. :P

We made a prime rib roast with thyme au jus sauce, garlic mash potatoes, asparagus, salad, and a homemade apple pie.  We are staying at a cabin in Breckenridge and are spending it here with some friends that drove in from Texas.  It was a very nice evening.  We even got some fresh snow.  White Christmas to boot, very awesome Christmas.

It is just me, hubby and our daughter so since I go all out for Thanksgiving dinner for Christmas I make snack type foods.   Little smokies in the crock pot with BBQ sauce, twice bakes potatoes, vegie tray and relish tray, homemade rolls, and sliced ham.   That way we can just snack as we "play" with our gifts.
