Leaking?

I feel like such a FTM : because I was induced with DD and they busted my water in the hospital but how do you know if you're leaking fluid?

The past few days my "discharge" has been much more than normal to the point that I'm changing my pantiliner more often because it feels wet against my skin/vagina. I'm also noticing a smell that's different...not a pee smell but I can't label it specifically.

Today I've had some contractions off and on, plus some pelvic pressure the past few days, but nothing timeable.

I know I should call the dr but I will have to do the on call and I hate doing that on a holiday if I'm being paranoid, ya know?

Sounds like you're leaking. I would call, or drive by, as they will want to take a swab to see whether its amnio fluids or discharge, as well as check water levels in your belly.

I leaked for almost two weeks with my first, who was born by cs cos of low water levels. Had two swabs that said it was not amnio, though ultrasounds did show decreasing water levels, which they contributed to the heat. So even if the test says its not amnio, insist on a scan!

i'm feeling this exact way today..i'm just keeping track of all my contractions for now...

i really don't want to go this early!!!

With Ds I had a leak, I could tell bc I sneezed and felt a small gush. But I've noticed lots more, um, wetness this past week. It's uncomfortable for me too unless I change my liner frequently, but I'm pretty sure it's just normal at this point. If you're worried, I'd definitely put in a call to your Dr though!

I've had that for weeks. They told me it was leukorrhea so I haven't been worried. My doc said if my water broke, I would know by a distinct lessening in my belly size and firmness. Have you done the gush test and laid down for 30 mins with your feet up then stood up quickly? If you gush, you're leaking according to my midwife.

Ha! Chasing after Sammie with B at work means doing anything for 30 min let alone laying down isn't happening. : I do plan to try that once she's down for bed tonight though.

I had been wondering something similar this past weekend when I went into LD w/ lots if contractions and discharge. I wasn't in labor....just have a super irritable uterus bc it's stretched beyond capacity at this point....and the ob there did a test on the discharge and found I had a yeast infection. So weird bc it was watery...not cottage cheesy...and I didn't have any itching. But ya...I'd say when in doubt get it checked out bc you ca have no idea what's going on down there.

My water broke when I was sleeping in the middle of the night. It was as if I was peeing myself, but I knew I wasn't peeing. There was no denying that it was my water. I have no idea if that's normal or not though.

I figured this would have to happen when she was down. Keep us updated! 

I did the lying down test and no gush...no more contractions over night so I think my body was faking me out. :)

PS. There was a smilie face in my response about not being able to do the lying down thing with Sammie up...it just didn't post here (I was on my phone) so I promise I wasn't being snarky! :)

This sounds similar to what I'm experiencing.  2 days ago I started getting a lot more discharge.  It kind of comes and goes though.  I don't necessarily remember getting this with DS and I was a little worried at first.  It also started with some spotting, which is also new to me, but thankfully that was only a single event.  The discharge has kept up though.  I think I'm probably starting to get some cervical change.

Yeah, the discharge is still going strong even though the contractions have stopped.

The spotting would have freaked me out too!

I have a Dr appointment Friday for my 36w check so I figure I'll ask there since things (other than the discharge) have calmed down.
