I need to vent!

I'm a ftm and super excited for our little girl to be here! But recently I have been super sensitive and having a hard time with people making fun of me especially my in laws calling me shamu and fat and saying things like "are you sure your not having twins". Tonight we celebrated Christmas with them and I had to go to the bathroom and cry from all the comments. I know they are just treasing and think its funny but it really hurts my feelings.
Anyone else going through this?! Or am I just overly sensitive. I am only 4 11 and have gained 21 lbs so far I'm 35 weeks 3 days.
Feels good to get that off my chest : I tried talking to my hubby about it but he doesnt get it.
Merry Christmas everyone!!!

I'm so sorry I want to cry for you! I feel your pain. I have had to endure a few comments from insensitive coworkers and old men at the hardware store. I like to think I have a pretty tough skin and let things ro off my back, but those comments are hurtful. I wasn't tiny to begin with and weight has always been an issue for me. Just remember the amazing thing your body is doing and going through to create this beautiful new life. The hubby though needs to understand... Sometimes my hubby needs to see me get upset before he truly 'gets it'. If my family did that considering how cranky and uncomfortable I've been lately I think I would absolutely just lose it!

I'm so sorry honey and I agree I want to cry with you. Comments like that are never appropriate even if they are just kidding. Pregnant women have enough to deal with and shouldn't be made to worry about their appearance even more than we already do. If I was you, I'd talk to your DH and asking him to speak to his family. Ask him to do it seriously though and with all joking aside. I know sometimes my DH doesn't really have the ability to actually get his point across with family so make sure he knows what really needs to be said and what needs to happen.

Keep your chin up.

I got the same thing last night at dinner.  As i got up from the kitchen table my MIL said: wide load coming through!  Really?  And my DH didnt say a word to her; i was too shocked to reply.  It does hurt because its a sensitive topic for many of us.   But you have not gained too much weight; you are pregnant!!!

Thanks ladies: I'm feeling a bit better this morning but we have to head over to the in laws house and we will be there all day hopefully I don't snap at anyone! I think I'll just try and keep to my self and try to relax. Can't wait for my baby girl to be here I think she can tell when I'm upset cause she jumps around and makes me laugh :

I am so very sorry they're behaving like this! Can you speak to your husband? I know my husband wouldn't tolerate anyone speaking to me like that especially his family. Don't let them treat you badly, whether they think they're being funny or not.

My little miracle.
