vegan cheese

Anybody ever try Daiya?  How does it taste.  I would love to try mac-n-cheese (vegan) style for DD.

We use Daiya and buy products made with Daiya (Tofurkey pizza and Amy's Rice Mac N Cheese). I make my twins (21 months) pizza with Daiya and they usually eat all the "cheese" off first, so they seem to like it. I make mac n cheese with Daiya Cheese, So Delicious Coconut Milk Creamer, Fleischmann's unsalted sticks, and I try to add in some pureed butternut squash most times...they love it! I also think it's pretty good.

I'm not in love with the shredded Daiya, but we love the cheddar style wedge.  The other night we make Quinoa Elbows with brocoli and melted Daiya wedge.  I added salt, pepper, powdered mustard to taste and some so delicious coconut milk...it was yummy.  I like the way it melts.  If you want a grilled cheese, you can get the cheddar wedge and slice it thin...it melts just like kraft.

We use daiya for mac and cheese. DS1 likes it, but he doesnt know anything else. I have personally never tasted it, mainly because it smells like dog food..lol!
