zonagirlie:I've used them. Sometimes they're a little stickier about expiration dates from my experience. Depends on HOW expired they are. Also there is a list of brands you cannot use the coupons with, so read the bottom of your coupon.

OP - I've never tried, but is there fine print on the back of the card? Like I know most gift cards can be switched between Gap/ON/BR but there are a few that can't.
