Attached to cardigan?

Anyone's LO obsessed with a specific piece of clothing? My DD has this cardigan she constantly wants to carry around. She asks for it immediately when she wakes up. She doesn't seem to care about a blanket or anything else, but wants this sweater. Just seems odd to me so thought I'd ask if anyone else has come across this!

Can I judge for a sec?

Just when I think maybe she's turning a corner and I should give her the benefit of the doubt my SIL reminds me that yes, she is that selfish and it drives me mad!

Again she has a 3yo and had to get 6 guys tested until she found the daddy!

After the boy was 2 weeks old she threw a fit because her parents didn't want to watch him so that she could go to a party. Claimed that having a kid is too much work to begin with and her life doesn't have to change just because she had a baby... (yes, she said that!)

Now she's pregnant again (due next week) Of cousre with a different guy. She started dating him and got pregnant after 5 months into the relationship. During those 5 months they had broken up multiple times. As of today they are broken up again and her statement was. "Well this is the last kid i'm pumping out!" The entire pregnancy she just kept saying how she "f'n hated being pregnant" for no other reason that not being able to drink and party. Then before she even hit full 37 weeks she started doing all those things to enduce labor. Her first boy was born at 37 weeks and had lots of issues with his tummy and immune system. The doc said, yes in number of weeks speaking he was full term but he really needed to be in there for a while longer. (she had to be induced that time around due to an infection) So I just don't understand that she can't wait to get this baby out. (luckily the tricks didn't work and she's still pregnant)

Now don't get me wrong, I totally understand when moms are done and want to have the baby. Sometimes it starts a lot sooner b/c they are in pain, uncomfortable, sick etc.... I totally get that and don't judge that part at all!

But she is feeling fine, has no pain etc, it's just the fact that she wants to go party. Which is just another thing! She thinks she can just go back out there to find another guy while the baby is being raised by the grandparents. (which is exactly what's going to happen, just like the first time around)

Sorry, I'm just so mad b/c I feel so bad for those kids. I can't stop judging her!!! And that in itself makes me mad...

Toy Recommendations

So DS definitely seems to be outgrowing a lot of his toys. He really likes his basketball hoop, rocking horse, mini piano and puzzles. My m/s has really been kicking my butt so I was hoping to get him so new toys to entertain him.

Changing Station - using a dresser?

We are thinking about using a dresser for baby #2 instead of a changing station. We don't plan to use the changing station from DD because paint is chipping, but I really liked how in reach everything is (see pic). I can't easily find this style again and really don't want to buy it (we got the current stuff off craigs list). I wanted to ask how others used a dresser and how you made it work. The upside of using the dresser is it means we'd finally get some master bedroom furniture. TIA!

Baby status

There's been a lot of BFPs on here lately! So what's the status of everyone so far? Pregnant, no babies for a while, trying, or done? Sorry, clicky polls haven't been wanting to work for me the past few days.

Edit: I guess I should give my answer since I started it :) We're not trying right now, but probably next year around this time.

Bottles and Pacis - how did you do it?

I have to admit that I haven't managed to get DD off the bottle and the paci yet. She still gets a bottle at night and in the morning. She is crying and screaming for it and will not go to sleep. The morning bottle is not an every day thing so I guess I can say it's getting better???

The paci is the same story. She needs it to sleep and to nap. It's more to go down then it's out for the rest of the night/nap. And she will ask for it during the day if she sees it, so I try and keep it out of sight. I do give it to her during the day at certain circumstances such as pain due to teething. That is sometimes the only thing that will calm her down.

But I just feel like I"m not "aggressive" enough about this and need to just bite the bullet and do it. I'm just so hesitant and am torn between letting her slowly ween herself and realizing that it may not happen and I simply need to take it away and weather the storm with her.

What has your experience been and what have you done? Any input is much appreciated :)

Eating like a horse

My DS just took down a brick of turkey meatloaf (like 4" x 4") and veggies and is yelling at me for my food. I swear this kid eats more than I do! If he's eating like this now I think we might go homeless when he's a teenager.

Anyone else's lo eat like a horse?

The magic sippy - no more bottles

I just wanted to share this with moms who are still in the process of weaning their LOs off the bottle.

As I mentioned in my post yesterday we've been struggling with this as DD still wants her night time bottle. We tried this one last night for the first time and she didn't even notice that she didn't get a bottle.

Worth a try :)

Playing chicken

OMG this child is going to be the death of me today! He is such a monkey and climbs on everything. His favorite is to climb up on the couch, stand up and run. I usually run after him and catch him so he doesn't fall off the couch. He thinks it's the best game ever but I'm getting up every five seconds. My morning sickness has really kicked in so it's killing me to keep getting up and down today. So I decided to call his bluff and the stinker is playing chicken with me! He runs to the end of the couch, stops, turns around and laughs at me. Then he runs to the other side of the couch and does the same thing. My heart is in my throat each time. He now seems to have gotten tired of it and is laying nicely on the couch watching sesame street.

I can't believe how much they test you at this age! He also likes to shake his head no at me right before he's about to do something he's not supposed to do. So fresh lol!

What are your little stinkers doing to test you?

Weight loss during pregnancy

I haven't ventured to a new board yet, a bit partial to this group still. I'm 7 weeks pregnant and having a really rough pregnancy so far. I had been back and forth with GI specialist prior to getting pregnant, and they believe I am having bile duct issues associated with previously having my gallbladder removed. I am pain constantly and having a hard time eating. Not much much can be done, but I'm really concerned about the weight loss. I'm down to 114, which I'm 5'1 so not horrible yet, but I feel so guilty to lose annoying right now. I lost about 10lb In a week. Just wondering if anyone had similar issues on your prior pregnancy? I am taking prenatal vitamins, and trying to eat small meals frequently, but nothing seems to help. The GI doctor said they may end up having to place a no feeding tube as worse case, but really hope it gets better. I am really having a hard time, and I know the stress and guilt just makes it worse. I feel horrible that I am pregnant, it took us so long last time, so this was a surprise. I so wish I could have had surgery before being pregnant. Anyway, guess this became a vent, but any advice appreciated. Tia

I just found out that a friend of mine from work lost her baby over the weekend. She was not quite 30 weeks along. Things were going so well until the boy stopped moving over the weekend. Then they found out that he was gone.

She's being induced today... I can't even imagine what she and her husband are going through.It's so so very sad :(

Do you narrate for your baby? I find myself talking to him when we are out shopping (describing what we are looking at and looking for) and then feel self-conscious about other people overhearing me. But after reading this I'm going to fully embrace the power of babble. Now, if only LO would start talking back to me, but that's a whole other post . . .
