So my 1 year old daughter is totally not on a sleeping schedule. She takes two naps during the day while my parents are watching her, but she will not fall asleep at night until anytime between 11:00pm-12:30am. I have finally had a breakdown because I cannot deal with only 4 1/2 hours of sleep anymore before I have to get up for work.

Does anyone have suggestions for me on what time she should be going to sleep and how to get her to sleep in her crib without screaming like someone is killing her? It is hard to let her cry because people live above us. We do have a routine, between 5-5:30 she has dinner, 7:30pm is usually a bath and then 8:00pm is a bottle (which I always hope is her last, but it doesnt work out like that). Ideally, I would like her to fall asleep after that 8:00pm bottle. She does sleep in our bed because it is easier for me not to have to go back and forth all night, but of course I would like her to sleep in her crib.

Help! Thanks!

Help Bottle to Sippy Cup

We are trying to transition our DD from bottles to sippy cups. In the mean time I have been trying to do some research and from what I found they are required to replace my car seat no matter how severe the accident was (especially with CA laws).

Anyways, I called mercury and told them I wanted to replace my car seat and they said they need the original receipt, well I got the car seat as a gift and the person who bought it for my does not have the receipt, it has been over a year!

They told me that without the receipt that they could only give me $100, which will not be enough to replace the car seat I have.

During that time, I would straighten up downstairs and get dinner going. He would wake up his happy sellf. This week - he has been switched to a completely different baby!!!! As soon as we walk in the door he is ok...but when i would try to put him down for his nap - he would do nothing but scream hysterically. If i go back and get him he is ok - but as long as I hold him. I can't put him down on the floor to play, otherwise he shrieks...then crawls to me and pulls up on my legs and stands there clutching my legs for dear life while he screams and screams. Even if I try and sit down with him and play with him - he screams. It's driving me bananas. Last night I just sat with him and cried because I get so frustrated that nothing I can do pleases him. Some have told me that this is just separation anxiety due to his daycare switch and being nervous. But why on earth doesn't he act that way during the day!! Only when he comes home and as soon as he see's mommy's face he freaks out!

Is DH being fair about MIL? We are moving "home" soon, and my MIL is going crazy with excitement - we'll be staying with her until we find our own place. Could be weeks - or months!! Kill me now. But I digress.

DH has been telling me that he intends to visit his mom every weekend after we find our own place - and he's taking the twins with him. Now, my MIL is a sweet old lady (who drives me completely insane), but there is no way in hell that I'm spending one of the only two days a week I get with the babies at her house. (Since I'll be working a lot and the babies will be at daycare, I won't see them more than a few hours per day.)

I think this is totally unfair of DH, to just tell me that that's the way it's going to be. I told him if he wants to spend that much time at her place, go ahead. But don't take the babies away from me. He thinks I'm being unreasonable. Am I? I think a couple of visits per month is enough. But, I will admit, I don't like the fact that DH is so attached to her or the fact that she is so demanding about seeing the babies. She is seriously turning the guestroom into a playroom for them, as if they'll be spending all their free time at her tiny, dark, ugly apartment. Yes, I'm biased. Then I try to do dishes or laundry or prepare dinner, but she just crys and walks over to me and hangs on my leg crying. I have to hold her for her to stop crying. I try to put her down to play with her or read a book but she just cries and cries. I start the bed time routine around 6:30 if we do a bath and 7:00 if we don't. I can't even read books anymore because she just cries. I change her (she is screaming the whole time), BF her, and put her to bed awake and walk out. She usually falls asleep by 7:45 and is awake at 7:00 the next morning. She likes to lay in bed and fall asleep on her own (at least she is good about that). So what is the deal? She takes two 30 minute naps at day care. She eats 3 meals and 2 snacks. Could it be the naps?

Walking?

Anyone else's little one not walking? Robbie always has been about a month or so behind with every milestone. He's cruising but nowhere near walking on his own or even standing on his own without falling over. Where are your kiddos at with this?

Oh the standing up in the crib milestone.....

NOT so cute when you want them to go to bed for the night.. :(

Had to let him figure out how to get himself to lay down to fall asleep, after about 20 mins of crying. I went in once to position him to lay down and rubbed his back.
I just found out that the daycare/inhome babysitter who has kept Robbie since he was 8 weeks old is closing it's doors. Amy just isnt able to afford it since she has had a couple of kids leave and hasn't been able to fill their spots. She has a 13 year old son that she has to take care of and says that by keeping the daycare open this long, she has pretty much depleted all of her savings, checking, etc. She told us today that her last day is next friday (4/26). Robbie LOVES her. She was sobbing when she told me because she is so upset. She loves Robbie and doesn't want this to happen, but has to take care of her own family. Robbie is in the age of "stranger danger" where he will not go to anyone. He wants mommy, his Oma (my mom), or Amy. He is comfortable with us and if anyone else comes near or tries to take him, he goes hysterical from being so nervous/scared. DH and I make decent money together. His salary pays all of our monthly bills and mine goes straight to savings. Currently we owe $59,000 on our house (valued at $165,000) and $19,000 in a home equity loan. We have no vehicle debt, no student loans, or anything like that. DH brings home approximately $2200/month and right now I bring home between 1800/month (I carry all healthcare insurance, etc on myself and Robbie). Our monthly bills total approx $1000 (that includes daycare of $360.month that will no longer be coming out). If you were in my situation - would you suck it up and find another babysitter/daycare and keep working --- or would you quit your job and stay home with your kiddo?

Help - Pics in Siggy

I really need to know how to do this right, it has been one year and I still can't figure out out.
