How many other moms here had preemies? I bet my DD is probably the smallest baby here. She is 8 months old & only weighs 15 lbs 1 oz., and 26 inches. She's small, but has come a long way. She was only 3 lbs 9 oz at 32 weeks. Luckily she is healthy and never had any problems. Any other tiny tots out there?

Sometimes it's hard to know what milestones to adjust for. She is on target for some stuff. If she's late on some, I try not to stress about it. They say most preemies catch up by the time they're 24 months.

Class Reunions

So my 10 year is this summer. How the shiit that happened I have no idea. I'm toying with the idea of going but I'm on the fence. Who went to their class reunion? Was it worth it? Fun/sucky? For those younger ::cough, I hate you, cough:: will you go if you get the chance?

I feel like it'll be a popularity contest all over again just like 10 years ago in high school. I would however like to see the people who were said "popular" and crashed and burned after graduating.

ETA: Our reunion is coinciding with the 150 year celebration of our town, 4th of July and an "all class, class reunion". They have seriously every day of that weekend planned. Friday is a night out a local restaurant/hotel, Saturday is family day at the park where they have an area blocked off for our class and Sunday is some other shiit. Too much interaction for me...*if* we got it'll be Friday night and then maybe stop by the stop on Saturday. Who wants to hang out with all those people you didn't like it high school for the a whole freaking weekend?

AW: He fell asleep on his own!

Mobile: He fell asleep on his own.

I posted a few weeks ago about my troubles getting LO to fall asleep on his own for naps without rocking, etc. he sleeps pretty well at night and does need some rocking at night.

I just made some progress. I tried putting him in his crib for a nap as he's been up since the crack of dawn; he started crying. I have it a minute or two then tried to rock him. I took him out of his bedroom for half an hour and then tried again. He cried for 3 minutes then fell asleep. I didn't realize until now that maybe I've been trying to put him down too soon. Doh. Anyway, he's sleeping!

How do you wrestle your alligator ?

Diaper changes and clothing changes are impossible with a baby that refuses to stay still. Do you consider it a choking hazard?

Long story short: Last night DS fell down our basement steps. He is 100% fine. Called his doctor, she said we should go to the ER to make sure nothing was wrong so we did.

Well, while we were there, the nurse, resident soon-to-be doctor and the actual ER doctor spent the majority of the time telling us how awful teething necklaces are and how lucky we are he has not choked to death on it. I had to take it off him while the actual doctor was looking at him because she told me she was going to cut it off. Really? He's had the thing on since around 4 months old.

They basically talked about the necklace more than they actually talked about if he was okay or not. When I wasn't looking she shoved it in her mouth.

I heard a choking sound and literally ran to her (10 ft away). She was breathing - but it was labored a bit. She made a choking motion in my arms, I dropped her basically upside down and gave her 4 back blows. Then, I pulled her up, saw the bag in her mouth, did the finger sweep - missed it and then did the back blows. I had to repeat this one more time before the paper fell out of her mouth. The whole time, I was walking to my bag to get my phone and dial 911 - which I never had to.

Once it was out, she looked at me and smiled. I nearly cried. She was 100% her normal self. No damage done except I was freaked.

One.of.the.scariest.moments.of.my.life.

We are going to rip our house upside down and inside out this weekend.
For me, my DH has an interview on Wednesday for his dream job. It would be almost double what he's making now, which would be fantastic. It's a really competitive job and out of 100 applicants, he's one of 4 being interviewed and the only internal candidate.

Also, my Mom finished her radiation 2 weeks ago and is cancer free. She starts her timoxifin (spelling?!) on June 1st and will be on that for the next 5 years. I'm so relieved that she's in the clear for now, and I'm hoping that the rest of the year is completely awesome for her, because the last year has been total shiit.

Recc your umbrella stroller

It's such a PITA lately to bring our travel system stroller anywhere so we are in the market for an umbrella stroller. Can anyone recommend theirs? I would say up to 100 dollars if its really worth it.

Edit mobile took away my dollar sign
