Does anyone else have the Avent Classic bottles? I have the 4oz ones and they are horrible! They leak and drip all over the place. Does this happen to anyone else or did I get defective bottles?

ear infection

My poor DD has an ear infection! She is on amoxicillin but ever since she started it she seems like her belly hurts. I can constantly hear and feel her belly turning and she screams like she is in pain when it does this.
Has anyone else had this happen? Is there anything I can do for her?

Hey all I am a FTM my little one is 3 weeks old. I breastfeed and pump, we also just introduced a bottle with BF milk this week. I need some support. I feel like I am constantly feeding LO. I also feel gulty that I don't love breastfeeding 24/7. I feel like I am suppose to love it but honesty I don't when I don't get a break. The past 2 days LO has been feeding nonstop from around 4pm8pm I herd this is normal. I need some words of wisdom because i don't want to give up just because I am getting frustrated! I don't hate breastfeeding all the time, its only when he is going through his cluster feeds! Someone please tell me this gets easier! I feel guilty for even writing a post complaining about bfing haha!

Pumping tip

I accidentally discovered a way to induce a second letdown when pumping. I usually only get milk the first 2-3 mins, then nothing even if I let the pump keep going for up to 20 minutes, even with trying the stimulation phase. I mostly bf, so only pump twice a day and never get more than 3 or 4 ounces (when full, or about 1.5 shortly after nursing).

Anyways, ths morning after 10 minutes, I had to turn off th pump and take off the tubes for a minute so I could get dd's pacifier across the room. When I hooked back up and started the stimulation phase again 60 seconds later, a surprise new letdown! I tried it again tonight, turning the pump off for a minute, then turning it back on and it happened again!

Just wanted to share in case anyone else was feeling like pumping wasn't doing a lot, maybe it will work for you too.

DD poops turds. Like actual little round turds. I always thought this wouldn't start until she got solids but when I brought it up to the ped. she said it was normal. Anyone else?? I mean it does make cleaning her CD's easy I will admit but sometimes she goes a day or two before she has a poop fest for the day where every dipe has a turd.

Brand of probiotic?

I noted a couple of people have mentioned probiotics for tummy troubles. Any particular brand that has worked for others? What about the BioGaia with D3 - does that work for your vitamin D drops too?

I am a horrible fur baby mom! I have been so wrapped up in life, going back to work, shuttling to daycare and caring for twins. All this time I thought my husband was filling the dogs dishes with food and water, as he usually does, and he thought I was doing it! That is until I sat down on the couch with a glass of water and the dogs hopped up and started licking the condensation off the cup! DH asked me if there was water in their bowl and I told him how I thought he was doing it....ahh these girls have definitely taken over my whole world! In a good way though. I just hope things start to get more manageable. It would be easier if at almost 3 months old we didn't STILL have visitors nearly every day to see the babies!

Angelcare baby monitor

Did anyone use the Angelcare baby monitor? DS2 sleeps really well on his tummy and not well on his back (due to reflux, etc). I let him sleep on his tummy for naps since I can keep an eye on him, but haven't yet at night because I am too paranoid. If anyone used the Angelcare monitor I'd love to hear about your experience!

DH's colleague just had a baby earlier this week. He sent out an email to everyone in the company, email in which he thanked them all "for the gift".

Gift?

We didn't get anything (not even a card) from DH's co-workers when Baby Boy was born last month. I wasn't expecting anything and never thought twice about it... until I found out that they all chipped in for his colleague's baby but not DH's.

And now I'm feeling all bitter about it. I mean, what's so special about HIS baby, YKWIM?

It's been months since I've been on this board and posted! I usually hang out at the FB group, so many of you might not remember me. I have been lurking around somewhat still and read birth stories as they came in, and just loving on your little babies. What cuties we have in the April 13 BMB!

But I just wanted to say Congrats to all the April Momma's! We did it! We have our babies here!

My little guy was born April 4th at 2:29am after just under 10 hours of labor. I can't believe he is almost 2 months old! Time is flying by!

Thanks to all of you for your support during my pregnancy. I really appreciated being able to come and chat and ask questions. So nice to have such a lovely group of ladies going through the same thing to rely on.

Recommend bottles/nipples please

My son is 5 weeks old and bfing and the ped says now is a good time to try a bpttle now and then to get him used to it. He said I should use silicone nipples that look breastlike...please recommend a bottle/nipple combo that has worked for you. Thanls!

Mobile bumping... what to wear to bed.

So I am having a hard time figuring out if my LO is too hot or too cold when I put him to bed. We have central air and have it set at 70. I like putting him in a long sleeve zip up jammie with footies and swaddling him with his arms out. But I feel like he's too hot! He's got a sleep sack swaddle thing that I like to use because he doesn't kick out of it like he does when I swaddle him in a blanket. Could he just wear a long sleeve onesie in the sleep sack? Any other suggestions? Thanks!

Gallbladder Issues Post-Partum

So after a few nights of intense abdominal pain with chills, I went to the ER, and found out that I have gallstones and my gallbladder is inflamed. Apparently it is pretty common post-partum, and it can be managed through diet (avoiding fatty and greasy type foods) before resorting to surgery. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, how do you manage it, and what helps? Thanks!

I didn't have any tears from birth and this just started recently, but everytime I go #2, it HURTS! I thought maybe hemorrhoids, but I felt around in the shower and didn't feel anything out of the ordinary. What do I do and why does it hurt?

Gassy Babies

Hello!

I like many of you have had a gassy baby... my LO does really well but from like 5am-7am (or an hour before she is up for the day) she is groaning and moaning in her sleep, her little arms flair and I can hear her pushing (sometimes turning red) and occasionally a fart comes out.... a few times she has even let out a scream in her sleep. I feel so bad for her and just want to help. I have tried changing my diet but nothing seemed to help and it was starting to look like I was going to have a very limited diet. I was going to post on here for advice but after seeing so many suffer with this I posted it on the Kellymom FB support group page. They gave me the link below which I found very helpful so I wanted to share!

Also, if you have any tips or are going through this too show some love so I don't feel alone ;) Also, since I feed her about 4am (and I have been sleeping, I really havent eaten) what is she getting to eat? Just the water I drink or a meal? Could this attribute to the tummy stuff you think?

Hello MOTN bumpers

Wonder what everyone thinks about bedtime. We currently start our routine around 930 so LO is in bed and asleep by 11. She then let's us go till 230 or 3.

However, I'm wondering If we need to get her in bed sooner even though she always wants to eat around 10?

I read a lot of people starting around 7 and wonder if we are doing harm by putting her down timed around US getting the longest stretch of sleep.

Hi and congrats to all of you! I am FTM due June 6th and would love to know what baby swing you got, and how you like it now that you have a LO to put in it. This weekend DH and I plan on purchasing any of the remaining items on our registry and still haven't deicded which swing we should get.

Any suggestions? Bonus points if you got it from Target as I have a ton of gift cards to use there.
