So since lo will be rooming with dh and I for a while I got a urge to nest in our room and wanted to share! Everything is a bit tight but I'm happy with the Way it turned out. I might change the photo over the changing table but havent decided quite yet, anyway... The mini crib is perfect and now I'm just so excited for our baby boy to be here!

Bedrest and induction....

I had my 36 week OB appointment today and she put me on bed rest until baby comes. My blood pressure is behaving very oddly (it's spiking up and down) and so because of that, she wants to induce somewhere between 37 and 38 weeks.

I'm going to do a 24 hour urine test tomorrow and those results will help determine the specific induction date. But it's so crazy that it could be as soon as NEXT TUESDAY! With a June 18 EDD, I never even imagined the possibility of having a May baby. This is weird. I just want him to be safe and healthy.

We live in a loft and our upstairs neighbor is an avid pot smoker. Last month I came home from a girls weekend and nearly lost it on hubs because the loft reaked of pot. We are both antidrug. I casually brought it up to our neighbor and he said he was sorry and would fix it. A couple weeks passed without stench... Now, for the past week I've smelled pot and cigarette smoke every time I walk in our door and then smelled it most concentrated in the nursery, which is right beside our air unit. WWYD?

I'm not sure if this has been asked but I shall ask it anyways.

For those of you having little girls, will you be piercing their ears as babies? How old until you take them to go get them? Or will you just let them decide when they grow up?

Personally, I will be taking DD to get her ears pierced. I'm not sure when but I plan to talk it over with the doctor and see their opinion. My mom and grandma took me when I was two weeks and I've never had a problem but that could just be me. In my family it's a tradition that the new grandma buys the new Granddaughter earrings and takes her to get her ears pierced.

I'm excited. Smiley face

Baby wearing question!

My little girl is just under 5 pounds - any recommendations on a baby wearer for a premature baby? She LOVES to cuddle all squished up, so maybe a sling would work well?

1. Today, I was giving a presentation at work and I totally burped in the middle of a sentence. And it wasn't a quiet little burp either. I was mortified, but now I can't stop laughing every time I think about it, lol. I am NOT a burper, third trimester is KILLING me.

Now that I am only 2 weeks away from LO getting here I've started thinking about after baby birth control options since we don't want another one for at least 4 years if all goes as planned.

I recently came across info on ParaGard which is an IUD made of copper that is inserted and works for up to 10 years. It can't be inserted right away as your body needs time to heal from child birth but we won't be having sex for at least 6-8 weeks and can use other methods in the interim. I am trying to avoid taking a birth control with a ton of hormones while breastfeeding as I have heard it can lower milk supply and plus I just dont want any of the extra hormones passed to my little guy.

So, has anyone had one or thought about this one? If you have had it did it cause any issues or side effects for you? I plan to talk to my OB about it on Friday but was just curious if anyone had experience with it

Really ready to be done with pregnancy hormones. My boss put out our Saturday work schedule for June. I normally work 1 Saturday a month. He has me on 3 including my due date. I started to cry. I feel like I'm being punished for taking maternity leave.

I've had high BP the last few days, massive headache, increased swelling(gained 3 lbs in two days) and some protein in my urine. Doing a lovely 24 hour urine catch and going in for a follow up on Friday. She put me on bed rest for the rest of the pregnancy. She said we won't even discuss induction until she sees my blood work and urine results but baby seems fine so I'm remaining hopeful that he'll cook a little longer!

Now, to not go stir crazy on bed rest..........

She's 9 and in 4th grade!!!!!!!!!

She definitely a little fuzzy pit and very self conscious about wearing tanktops/teeshirts.....so I just shaved my 9 y/o's pits while she showered. God help me...I'm going to have a tween and a newborn at the same time.

Unexpected visits

Well, my DH just got a call. Apparently, his parents (and 3 of his siblings) have decided to come for a visit (they live 500+ miles away) a WEEK after my baby is due, and they're staying a week. All I can picture is either (a) them waiting around because my baby may be late (this same family came to my SIL's to wait for her baby and she ended up getting induced just so she would have the baby before they left town!) or (b) me having the baby right before they get there and being a hot mess while they take over our tiny apartment. These people don't simply come for visits. They rearrange your furniture to get comfy and camp out with all forms of electronic gadgetry and stay up until the wee hours of the morning.

A little bit stuck here because FIL already took the time off from work and because it's within a month, he can't change the dates. Do I just suck it up and hope they're actually beneficial? I just had this image in my head after reading an article about pain relief for stitches after birth. Someone suggested putting witch hazel on a pad and sticking it in the freezer...But with company over, I can just see someone going for the ice and getting a nice surprise. What to do?

andreamarie: That heartrate sounds normal to me! I have had such a huge range of heartrates at my appts - it really just seems to depend on what LO is doing at the time.

ConnieRob: Eeeeeee you're getting so close! ONE more week! Do you have everything ready or are you still working on some last minute to-do items?

HisPromiseIsTrue: Well I hope their measurements were off. Growth scans seem to be notoriously wrong so I would try not to stress about it too much (easier said than done, I know)

LeggyNic: Wow, May 28?! That's less than a week away! I am excited for you!

sctiger: I am of the same mind when it comes to internals (although I have been getting them since 16w, so I figure why stop now?) That's awesome that your body is already starting to make progress! Baby girl will hopefully be here in no time!

Big Baby+ No Progress=Induction!

Saturday is the day! I am getting induced. Little Liam is already measuring 8lbs (after ultrasound measurements) and I have made ZERO progress with dilation and thinning. I am very nervous for the pitcion but I want to try natural before jumping into a c-section. Fingers Crossed I progress with meds!

Well I just walked outside and DH's new car he just bought with his savings from deployment is gone. Gone as in someone stole it. He just bought it a week ago. We have surveillance camera's and watched the stupid kids steal it. Uhg. People make me sick.

Went to the doctor for my 37 week appointment to find out a whole bunch of nothing is going on. LO seems to be high up and I am not dilated at all, which my doctor says will probably be the case until I am in active labor. She also mentioned that my pelvic opening in not very wide and we will have to see how baby will react once I am in labor. Has anyone heard this before? I obviously plan to ask questions next week, but I am wondering if anyone had experienced this??

My dad lives in Vegas and works as a usher showing celebrities to their seats. While working the billboard music awards he got the meet Jenny McCarthy and she gave him her phone number and they will be going on a date tom night!! Not gonna lie, it would be freaking awesome if my Dad got to date a celebrity. Makes me think that it may be possible to meet my "free pass" one day if my dad can get a date with a celebrity lol. heart rate

does anyone know the range for the babys heart rate this late in the game (35 weeks) the last appt. hers was 125, I thought it had been around 140s before. just curious if this is normal for the heart rate to start to slow down?

My LO was born at 35w1d after my water broke prematurely! She came home with me after 3 days in the hospital and couldn't be doing any better! :)

She's just under 5 pounds and my Moby carrier says 8 pound minimum. Any advice on baby wearing/slings for a little peanut?

ETA - just under 5 pounds, not 4!

Muscle pain/weakness

This is odd. My upper right arm feels super weak and cramps when I try to do anything. The dull ache kind of extends toward my shoulder. It's not really painful, more uncomfortable and limiting what I can do. I experienced the same thing a day or so ago but forgot to mention it to the midwife today.

I eat a banana or two daily to help with leg cramps so I wouldn't think potassium deficiency is to blame. Any thoughts? Worth a call to the nurse?
