Before pregnancy this was not really an issue, but now that my whole body has gotten bigger I am having this problem. For ladies with this problem what do you do when wearing dresses and skirts? I plan on wearing maxi dresses to help me get through the summer but not if I have to worry about my legs rubbing and rashes.

I know this might be a stupid question to some. But I am going to ask it anyways.

I have been careful about what I eat this entire pregnancy (it is my first and I am 26 weeks).

Next week is my first anniversary. We always celebrate a special occasion at the Melting Pot. I absolutely love the place! I would like to make a reservation there but being pregnant..I am apprehensive.

Some of cheeses they use may or may not be pasteurized. They cook with wine. You have to make sure that the meat and fish you cook is fully done, etc. etc. etc.

So my question is...would you eat there being pregnant?

Furniture frustrations

So my dad and his wife bought us the babies furniture which is a total blessing. We ordered the baby cache Chantal from bru. Picked it up today. Poor hubby and his brother carried up the pieces which are extremely heavy. When I inspected it the paint was all cracked in the double dresser and headboard. Now wet have to bring it all back when they re order it and pick up a new set. I feel so bad for them it was so hard to get up the stairs. Also so frustrating. Anyone else here get this set or have issues with theirs?

Space Saver High Chair-ruin dining room chair?

Has anyone used one of those space saver high chairs that hook onto a regular dining room chair? If so, did you like it? I am considering going that route instead, but am a little concerned since I do have a fabric upholstered padding on my chairs, I wasn't sure if the weight of it would ruin my chair. Thoughts?

Any Emergency Responder's Wives?

My husband is an on call firefighter and we haven't worked out the best communication situation for when there are calls. I need to get a base scanner for the house, but last night really shook me up for some reason. It hit me that I am pregnant and what happens if there is a first alarm fire that he is responding to and I go into labor?

Last night we had crazy thunderstorms and a house got struck by lightening. He was leaving his regular work late (his family owns a pizzeria) and got an automatic fire alarm which usually takes 30 minutes in the area he responds to because it's a resort condo area. So that's fine.. I wouldn't have noticed. However... he then got done with that and there was a structure fire. I fell asleep at 10:30 pm and woke up at 1:00 in a panic because he wasn't home and I hadn't gotten a call from him. I called his parents and his poor dad drove up to the fire house to see if his car was there. He then called around 2:30 am and told me what happened. Yeah...we kind of need to figure out the communication thing with these situations.

Just wondering if any moms have gone through this with their husbands or are figuring it out. Any suggestions?

I'm 29w 4d and I'm starting to lose sleep over choosing a name for my baby girl. I know I still have about 2 1/2 months til my EDD Aug 5, but I'm still totally freaking out because there is nothing I just LOVE. I've been getting ideas from the baby name board but I'm still so unsure. I don't know if DF and I will ever even agree on something.

I am flying home to Northern California from Hawaii this coming Sunday. I am 26weeks tomorrow and when I fly back ill be 2 days before 28 weeks. Anyone else going to be flying?? I have heard from numerous people and articles that its okay to fly at this point but still nervous..

Exhaustion is back

Seems like the complete exhaustion from 1st tri is coming back. I just had to go take a nap in my car for my lunch break! I'm guessing its from getting worse and worse sleep at night from being uncomfortable.
Thankfully I had 2 pillows in my car from our Bradley class...looks like those will be serving a dual purpose for the next 13 weeks. I passed the eff out in my back seat, I mean out cold! Haha.
Anyone else starting to drag with exhaustion? Are you finding anything to help give you an energy boost?

Well, I'm pissed. I went to work today, at a daycare, and I was in my room with my son just waiting for him to go into his room.. I was a tad bit early. My boss came in and started talking to me. She asked me if DS wore me out at home and if I was tired, I said yes because he does biiiiiig time.. And her reply was that she could tell and I looked horrible. WELL THANKS. I don't often care what people say about me, but honestly.. You don't say that to a tired, gaining weight pregnant lady. Screw you boss!!! Grrrr I wonder who peed in her cornflakes this morning

After sitting for a bit, my legs felt swollen when I stood up and walked around. They don't look insanely swollen but definitely more than normal and both appear to have a reddish color to them. I've only had my feet swell up to this point. Anyone else experience sudden swelling in the legs?

Jk!!! Good new I can't share with anyone though! I just found out my best friend since kindergarten is pregnant!!! I'm so excited for her. We were both pregnant together back in Feburuary, but it ended up being a chemical pregnancy. Obviously she is hesitant to tell folks about this one and I'm about to bust!!!! So happy say a little prayer for her and her baby!

I was curious what brand you ladies used... I sort of inherited the brand I currently use from my mom (we shared when I lived at home) but years later I find I'm just not happy with it and scared to try something new.

Holy gigantic feet!!!!

I can no longer walk on my lunch break at work without my feet exploding to twice their size...

I actually ended up buying a cute pair of slippers to wear at work just to find some comfort. Ha-ha.

I read that drinking more water can usually help with the swelling feet. Any other tips and tricks from the STM's dealing with this issue that helps relieve some of the swelling??

Private Health Insurance for LOs?

DH and I both looked at our insurance options from our respective employers - both us already pay a decent amount for ourselves only and the bump to add 1 child is quite big.

Have any families chosen to purchase private health insurance? If so, how did you go about it? Or do you have any recommended carriers? We don't currently have an insurance agent - as our homeowners and auto have been pretty simple. But we'll also be picking up life insurance along the way...does it make sense to include both life and private health and meet with an agent?

Funny thing...I work for a large insurance company and still have NO clue - although we don't administer health insurance.

Contractions

I know about Braxton Hicks and preterm labor but I'm just not sure what to do.

I have been having contractions. They are more than 5 an hour. Spent hours in LD last week and they noted the contractions are regular and consistent but I haven't dilated. They sent me home. I am still having regular, consistent and often times painful contractions but I feel like a pest to keep calling my doctor. Have any of you dealt with this? Any suggestions?
