My co-ed baby shower/party/family get together is next week. So I casually asked a few of the reps I work with if they would like to donate some beer. Got a enough cases for it to be a good time for everyone, including a case of the N/A beer that I have been drinking all the time.

Weight Gain Question.

I am 25 weeks pregnant tomorrow. When I got pregnant I was 160 lbs, I am 5' 8", that is in my "normal" weight range. I currently weigh in at 181 lbs. I gained 10 lbs in the first four months, in the past two months I put on the other 11 lbs. I'm just wondering how "normal" this is. I understand that every body is different just like every pregnancy and that there is no "normal" way to gain weight. My doctor said that she was not concerned but advised me to eat healthy and cut out junk, which I really don't eat anyways...obviously there are days when we will have junk food or something less-than-healthy but who doesn't? I just wanted to check in with other pregnant ladies around my same due date and see where they are in their weight gain.

I remember reading that a few of your husbands would be making something for the nursery. I think one person even said he was making a crib!

I want to hear about what all your husbands are making because mine keeps complaining that I bought everything so he can't make anything. I told him he could make the garage sale rocker I bought white as I shouldn't be wielding a spray paint can at this point, but he didn't find that funny.

Any ideas? Is a rocking horse too difficult?

vacation not into it

So we are going on a week long vacation with my inlaws and my sister in law and her family. It was something we agreed to last year but then I got pregnant and now it's not something I'm really excited about because it's camping and at 6 months pregnant that does not sound like fun. Anyways we said yes and we cannot back out because my in laws already fronted the cost of the cabin. The place we are going is 4 hours away so I'm in a conundrum. We have 2 vehicles, an Altima with no air conditioning or a mini van with about 225,000 miles on it. What do we take?? I've looked into a car rental but that will be 2weeks in a row where we are spending tons of money on stupid car rentals. Any suggestions or thoughts would be appreciated?? Any one have any good rental car coupons or discounts?? I'm just so frustrated. The week before this my sister and brother put the guilt trip on me for not coming home for my mom's surprise 60th birthday party. Mind you, I'm in NH and my family is in Indiana. Flying is way to expensive because of the extra charge of having my LO so we are renting a car to drive that 15 hours of fun because there is no way in hell I'm sitting in a car without air conditioning for that long and I don't think the mini van would make that long of a trip.

As I'm loading my 3 year old DS into the car to take him to preschool so I can go to my doctor's appt, I realize I have no keys. I'm searching everywhere, and then recall my husband used my keys last night. Long story short, as I'm laying on my bak underneath the car looking for te hideakey, and of course totally crying and bad mouthing DH, my little guy says "take a deep breath". If I wasn't crying, I soul have busted out laughing.

Sometimes the strategies we give our little ones are best to keep in mind for ourselves! I never found the key, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to be late for the appointment while waiting for DH to get here, but at least I learned a few words of wisdom from DS!

My boobs were a bit itchy last night while I was getting ready for bed so I pulled out some cream and when I looked at my nipple the very center had darkened tiny spots. I touched it to see if it was maybe dried milk or something and seriously my nipple began falling apart. The very center is now kind of empty and it just looks nasty. I never leaked or anything with my first and had a really hard time bf so nipple issues are new. Should I be doing something or should I call my Doctor? Sorry for the weirdness it's just really gross.

how much pain are we talking?

As of three or four weeks ago, every time I walk for more than a few minutes, my hips are screaming. Not just the outsides of my hips, but the inside "hinge" area where the thigh meets the...pubic bone, I guess? If I walk long enough, even my tailbone hurts. This also happens if I sit for too long, but it's much worse with walking. By that night/the next day, I can barely walk. Getting in and out of bed is not fun.

I've been assuming that this was the normal sore hips that everyone seems to get when pregnant, but now I'm not sure. I see my doctor tomorrow and I'm wondering if I should bring this up to her or if she'll just blow it off and tell me it's normal.

We have a public pool a couple blocks away from us. They're finally opening on Friday! I never even went in the water last year, but I'm looking forward to having an excuse to wear a bikini in public (I was tempted to walk the dog in a bikini the other day ;) Now if only my bump will scare off everyone else so I can have the pool to myself...

Hi everyone!

I've been silently stalking for a few months now, but thought I'd pipe in today :D The DH and I are waiting to find out the gender until The Fetus decides to make its entrance (ETA 10-12-13), and while I love the mystery and what a big surprise it's going to be sometimes I get moments of weaknesses where I just want to call my Doc and find out now!!! Anyone else on team "gender's a surprise?"

On a related note, everything gender neutral is yellow and green. Which is why we're decorating the nursery in grey and orange!
