Well, IVF #2 is a no go. I am beyond disappointed. I was really sure this time would work. We met with my RE today and he said that their frozen success rate was really good so he thought we still had hope, but it is hard to imagine anything working when two cycles with good quality embryos just aren't sticking. I am going over everything in my head, and other than a somewhat stressful weekend entertaining the in-laws I just don't know what else i could have done differently. I am breaking up with Facebook and I'm not sure I can be around any of my friends this weekend since they all have kids and that's all they want to talk about. I don't think anyone has an inkling of what this is like other than y'all and DH. Infertility SUCKS!!!

I think more than anything this is just me needing to tell someone how I feel and them tell me I'm not crazy for feeling the way I do. I have recently decided that it is time to give up the dream of carrying my own child and just fight for the bigger picture. I am going to use a surrogate. DH is very uncomfortable with it and doesn't want to but is willing to go through with it because of how badly I want a child. I have a friend/co-worker who has volunteered to carry for us. She has been recently dx with rheumatoid arthritis, my RE is ok with her carrying but needs to have a clearance letter from her rheumatologist. She doesn't have any insurance so is having to go through the county system for a specialists. Those people don't get in any kind of hurry about anything. I would like to have everything worked out and ready for a transfer in late August early September. I still have thoughts of what if this last cycle would be the time I got pregnant but what if it doesn't and I have wasted my last 2 frosties and probably my last chance of having child. I wish there was a black and white answer here but unfortunately there just isn't. It doesn't help that there is a girl helping us out at work that is 7 months pregnant with her 3rd all under 4. She is 23, not married, on welfare, ect you get the picture. I have a monitor in my office and I can see her all day just rubbing her big belly. I would give my right arm to be able to rub my own pregnant belly. Funds are really getting low and I know we are down to our last chances here, I wish I knew what the right thing to do was. I think I know and just don't want to accept it. And it burns my that I have $2600 worth of bravelle and menopur that Im probably going to have to donate instead of being able to use that money towards attorney fees and the cycle. I think Im done spilling my guts now. Thanks for reading ladies. Hope everyone has a great weekend and holiday on Monday.

Pleeeeease send T&P'S our way. I'm getting ready to go in for my first beta this cycle. We did get a positive HPT (I've taken three so far and can't stop staring at them, I'm in disbelief). RE's office said it would NOT be the trigger this late and that I am definitely pregnant. Still can't believe it!!

I know so many things can still go wrong so I'm praying to God everyday that this will be it. All in His time and His will.

Well, it looks like it is finally time for me to move on from this board. I never posted it, partially due to disbelief and partially due to pgal brain, but started testing positive at 5dp5dt and had two great betas at 9dp5dt and 12dp5dt. I asked for another this week for reassurance and had a very strong number. We go for an ultrasound next week, which I am very nervous and impatient for. I sort of can't believe we have made it this far, after having such disappointing cycles before this one.

Thank you so much to everyone on this board. We did not tell family and friends about our IF struggles so this board is what kept me sane and hopeful during our three IVFs over the past nine months. I couldn't have made it through with out the support of you wonderful ladies! You are all in my thoughts and I hope to see you all on PAIF someday soon! xo

Hope I am still welcomed xoxo, I can't even believe I am writing this...I thought it was over for me as far as ivf. As some of you know my last fresh and frozen cycle were epic failures. Took 3 months off and changed dr. Love love love New one. He ordered like 30 tests, and all came back normal but 1 bleeding test.( May just need baby aspirin), Amh low normal .69, fsh great etc. So this 35 yo is still in game. I get my schedule bcp etc on Tuesday.

I hate that I am still ttc,, but what better company to be in! Fx you ladies move on before I stim in july! Cycle #5 here I come....

Dark brown spotting

Hey everyone!!

I am 10dp3dt. I just started today w/ dark brown spotting when I wipe. My beta is Tuesday. I am crampy, nausea, so thirsty!! I called my nurse and she said "for some reason your body is expelling old blood". Ugh. Trying not to freak out. Any advice??? Thank you.

I have my phone consoult with CCRM this afternoon. It's with Dr. Minjarez. We decided to move forward with her since we could get in right away. If we waited for Schoolcraft, it would have been until August. I was told they all follow the same protocols and speak with each other about special cases if they are unsure. (Not that ours is special) :) Any advice on what questions we should ask? I already have a list started, but thought you ladies might be able to think of something we didn't think of. Thanks!!

The RE suggested I go on Metformin as a way to help increase egg quality. I do not have any insulin or PCOS issues so I am still confused as to the reason why I am on it. Has anyone else taken it? Has it helped?

Alcohol and IVF

I know several people have weighed in on this in the past, but I'm curious. I'm not an alcoholic by no means, I can go without it. However, I seem to be much more relaxed when I have a glass or two. Right now, I'm just on BCP, and won't start Lupron until June 8th. Do you ladies think it would be OK if I had just a few drinks? I hope so, because I'm drinking a glass of wine now, and I already feel better!

I guess I'm just looking for confirmation not to feel guilty. I told myself I wasn't going to drink at all as soon as I got on the pill. However, I just don't see how that is going to help anything. The way I see it, the more relaxed I am, the better...right?!

We had OPU yesterday and were pleased with the fact that we had 13 eggs retreived. Even though the embryologist said my husband's sperm looked great he said he would do ICSI on some of the eggs as a back up. We didn't think much of it but were phoned this morning to say that none of the normal IVF eggs fertilised but that 4 of the 6 ICSI embryos did. I was glad that we had 4 embryos but really disappointed and shocked that none of our normal IVF eggs fertilised (or fertilised abnormally as they said). Does anyone know why this happened? I had always thought ICSI was for male factor infertility and my husband's sperm has always had great motility, morphology and count so I didn't think this was something we needed??? Is this an egg issue? I know I should be grateful for 4 embryos (although we are still at day 1) but I am just confused.

Any advice would be gratefully appreciated

OK IF is getting to me. My best friend had her baby yesterday, another friends baby shower is sat, two more friends are pregnant, oh and 2 of my co-workers wives and the stupid fertility clinic had to call today. Why did they call, I almost got excited. They called to say they still have no embryos and I may want to call back in 3 weeks. They called me to say they had no embryos as of yet!!!!!! Why bother!!!!! Well it had been a bad week and I was not in a good mood. So what do I do, have a melt down :). Not just the run of the mill cry in the bathroom type either. I proceed to tell the donor egg coordinator "she must just be picking on me, Do you just not want me to try this again, Come on how unreal can you be. Your a fertility clinic how can you manage to not get embryos I mean seriously? Oh and I cant get them from anywhere else cause you wont use them, but you have no problems taking my money!!!!!!!!

Yeah I kinda yelled at them, in the parking lot at work on the phone like I am a crazy person. Mind you I am the only female construction worker, and I know all 50 guys I work with heard me. So I throw my phone in my truck, stomp up the stares into the building and my crew wouldn't even look at me. So I bark at them, are we going pull this wire in or what?

The clinic will prob avoid me for a while and the guys I work with think I am crazy. All in a day of an infertile

Can BCP cause insomnia?

I have always had trouble sleeping, but after a few nights of not very good rest, I tend to have a few good night. I haven't had a really good nights sleep in over a week! I'm exhausted!! I started BCP on Friday, and I have just felt really weird, like I want to crawl out of my skin. When I lay down to go to sleep, I can't! I'm so frustrated because I'm so tired!!
Are all the medicines relating to IVF like this? Any suggestions on how I can relax and go to sleep?!

Hi Everyone. I am 38 and my DH is 39 and we have been dealing with TTC for about 6 years now. Here is a bit of our background.

We started our journey in 2007 right before our wedding and nothing was happening for us, so we began going to our Fertility Dr. We did 6 months of Clomid and about 2 months in my husband broke his knee, so with that happening and 2 surgeries later, still no baby. We decided to take some time off because my weight was also a factor. I had GBS done in May 2011 and I have sucessfully lost 105 pounds and have kept it off. So we decided that it was time to head back to the doctors and now we are back on Clomid (100 mg) and just did our 1st IUI on Tuesday, May 14th. We have had every test done under the sun and the problem that we face is that the sperm is unable to get from point A to point B safely. His counts were amazing and I had 2 follicles measuring at 18 & 19 the day before our IUI.

This has been such a long, crazy, heartbreaking journey for so many of us.

I had my first public IF related breakdown in Target of all places today.

I went in for my US/bloodwork this AM. the US per the doc of the day looked "good." on the right side i had about 3 follies that were 18,19,20 and some around 10. the left i was told is "lagging behind." there were several that were <10 and that i would probably be triggering tonight. my E2 is 510.

my RE RN at first tells me that I will be triggering tonight and then schedule for ER this friday - then she calls me back and says the "doc of the day" reviewed my results again and don't think it's worthwhile to do an ER because i only have 3 good follicles and they recommend i do IUI insteadso this cycle of my $3000 meds doesn't go wasted.

i was in too much shock at the time to ask any good questions. DH and i opted to just stop this cycle altogether- why would i want to pay for an IUI if they told me at my initial consultation that IUI wouldn't work for us anyway bc of our MFI...!

i need to know if any of the above sounds legitimate to you guys...? my RE should be back in the office tomorrow - I need to know what questions to ask him because i'm confused by the indecisiveness of today.... so many mixed messages. i bought myself a package of mini kit kats and you know what i will probably nosh on sushi for dinner.

IF stinks and those darn cicadas creep the heck out of me. they're EVERYWHERE

FET # 2 Cancelled

I am so angry right now I wanna cry . I had my u/s today and apparently my body wants to ovulate on it's own and I have a 15mm follicle. So now I have to go back in Friday and hopefully my progesterone will be at a 3 so they can give me an injection to jump start my period and suppress my ovaries. I am no longer a May emerald and I'm not sure about my new protocol it has me worried and nervous. I dont know what to expect.

Has this happened to anyone?

It's not even a 2ww for me. It's more of an 11 day wait, but still stinks. I am officially 5dp3dt and aside from the progesterone kicking my (PIO + crinone) I am experiencing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. According to a website, today is the day my little ones should be implanting. I keep hoping to feel some pain, or looking at the toilet paper hoping for some type of color to show up, but nope. I go between feeling absolutely positive that one of these three have a shot, to researching what clinic we will go to for our next cycle. I told myself this time I would not do all this because last time I talked myself into paying attention to all the symptoms and it ended up a BFFN. Too late, I've already started at 2dp3dt and am clearly continuing to obsess and consult dr. google for every success story there is (I used to be an elephant but transformed into a human and have no ovaries but now i'm pregnant!) and think, hey! I have a shot!

I did get my P4 and E2 back which was >40 and 1353 so I'm happy with those numbers, but know they mean nothing right now.

Anyone else going batty?

We got 4 more blastocysts biopsied and frozen today!!! That means we have SIX total from this IVF, and FOUR from IVF1. A total of ten, all are 5AA! DH and I agree that this completes our batch for PGD. Now we just have to wait for our probe to be done. As of tomorrow, our biopsies will already have been couriered to Michigan, and we will just wait for news that the probe is ready. Then we will consent to test, and hopefully have even better than the 23 percent yield they have told us to expect.

Feeling good today...I can exhale. Thanks to each of you who was sending up a prayer or good vibes. I can't thank you enough.
