Sorry I haven't been able to pop on, I ended up having a few complications. Preston Erik was born first at 10:43 on Weds 5/22, weighing 6lb12oz, 19" long. Juliet Tessa came a minute later at 10:44, weighing 5lb even and 19" long. We had no idea there would be such a large size difference; my doc thinks it's great we did the c/s when we did since J's weight seemed to be dropping off the last month or so-she said this was likely due to placental degradation.

They are both beautiful and healthy and spent NO time in the NICU! They spent their first night in the regular nursery so that their blood sugars and temp regulation could be measured, but they did great so now we can keep them in our rooms whenever/for as long as we want.

I ended up having significant blood loss because my uterus was so swollen, as well as an inguinal hernia (I'll have to go back to have surgery for that in about 6 weeks unless it shrinks significantly). And for the icing on the cake, I got the somewhat rare complication of post-delivery pre-e. So for the first 24 hours after delivery I had to continue to not eat or drink, keep my catheter, not leave my bed, and get hooked up to magnesium sulfate. Luckily I was one of the lucky ones that didn't get too severely sick from it, I just felt very weak and tired. That has made BFing a challenge, so we've been giving some formula and I've been pumping as well as offering the breast. Heres a picture-the internet at the hospital hates the photo upload sites, so I'll put more up soon as I get home.

" mce_src="">

Scary news

A bridge not to far from us on I 5 collapsed yesterday from a semi with a tall load hit it. While this is great news the appraisal is scheduled for Tuesday which means my weekend will be spent cleaning the crap out of my home. So this pregnant mama will be changing sheets and scrubbing bathrooms and floors Its times like this that I wish we had a three bedroom ranch style home. Usually we can't think of anything and therefore get nothing. This morning, I came up with idea! Tell me what you think, and where I can buy them for a good price. I want to get each kid a nice journal/notebook and then use the silhouette to put their name on it.

I gave a notebook to a girl I was close with and she still uses it. I think it's important to write out your thoughts and express yourself. Especially when it comes to religion and at this point in their life where they are really discovering who they are.

So, yes or no? If not, any other ideas?

also, Ive always wanted to give a standard gift that the kids can look forward to getting and anticipate.
