I can't figure out what to do for my daughter's 2nd birthday! She loves all things girly so I could pretty much go with anything. I was just wondering what themes everyone else was using to get some ideas that i haven't thought of.

How frequently do you change your LO's diapers?

How frequently do you change your LO's diaper? We probably change her every 4 to 5 hours during the day and after poops. I am reflecting on how often we change our one month old's diaper aka at least every 2 hours and I'm wondering if 5 hours is too long for my June baby. Also, I read they can be ready for PT when they stay dry for 2 hours, but since we change on a schedule I have no idea how long she is dry!

I actually had sometime to cruise on the net! I have missed getting on here to ask questions and have that much need support. I can't believe my little man is going to be 2 in a month and a half. It has been an eventful second year with Brooks. He has had to get two sets of tubes and a hernia repair this year. DH and I are ready for things to calm down. His size is still not on the chart, but we have switched pediatricians. The new one is not near as concerned about his size.

Looks like we will be starting to try for #3 next month, which is crazy to me. B still seems so much like a baby, but DH and I are ready to complete our family. Hope all is great for everyone out there. I hope to be able to get on here more often. It would be nice if there was an app for the message boards.

. I Ellie Marguerite was born Feb 5 and Noah is now a big brother! I haven't come on here often as I am now a mother of two under two but wanted to check in and post a picture of my kiddos! I see lots of other ladies are expecting or have had another bambino. Congrats! I am know perusing for help on how to deal with over-loving big siblings. My son loves his Ellie but wants to hug her a little too hard!

My son will be 2 6/16. By the way, long time no see. I've been so crazy busy with him and I'm due with #2 (unexpectedly one in a million chance) in October. All my son says is "hot" and "da" for daddy. My pedi isn't worried and says Einstein didn't talk until after three lol. Just curious if anyone else isn't talking

Baby water bottle recs?

Daycare is asking parents to bring in a water bottle for LOs to bring out to recess now that it's hot most days. They only ask that it's strong enough not to melt in a high heat dishwasher. Any recs for a kidfriendly water bottle that fits the bill for me to send him in with? TIA!

So I know not all of you went to the Facebook and I was bump browsing for the first time in months and thought I'd stop in and say hi! I'm about 6 months along with baby #2..a boy! We named him Carson Bryce. No bed rest yet. Just watching my activity. Cervix is short but stable with the stitch. Finley is well too. I hope you all and your LO's are doing great!

Pacifiers - who still uses them?

If your LO is still using a pacifier do you have a plan of when/how you're going to take it away yet?

DD still uses one during nap time at home and bedtime. (For some reason she's perfectly fine without it at daycare...) We've managed to keep it contained to her bed and we won't let her bring it anywhere else. I was ready to take it away months ago, but we transitioned to a toddler bed and we're potty training now, so I figure I better to stick to one big change at a time. :) After potty training is more consistent, the pacifier is next! My goal has always been 2 years old and it's fast approaching!

We have a lot of older family members that don't care to use or won't use a computer who live across the country. I try and send pictures of DD and us a few times a year usually using Walgreens. I get the emails from Walgreens that they picked them up and we call to let them know that they are available but we never get a thank you. I guess I am wondering if any of you that actually send real photos or even digital images ever get a thank you? I just sent some last week to my H's aunt who has been begging for new pictures and nothing.

I didn't quite expect the "why's" to start this soon but they are in full force. I really don't think she knows what she's asking but she says "why?" to EVERYTHING! Lol.....anyone else having to explain their every move? ;)

ETA: Well, now I'm not so sure she doesn't know what she's saying, lol...she seems to be using it correctly every time...just A LOT!

Looks like some people still come around so I thought I would let you know our baby has arrived! We welcomed a little girl into our lives on April 3rd at 8:57 pm. She was 8lbs and 20 1/4 inches long. Her name is Daley Lynn (MHs middle name and my middle name). Big brother Jyles has been awesome with her but is testing his boundaries with us. I'm not sure if it's because of her arrival or because he's almost two!!! Anyway, I hope everyone is doing well! Miss this board a ton. The April board is already starting to slow down.

I don't really know anyone else with kids other than myself so I don't know what is odd or not. My son has been able to do the following

He has pointed out letters of the alphabet since he was 17 months old.

He recites multiple pages from books in situations that are relevant to what we are doing. Like if we are at a playground and there is a slide he will recite about 4 pages in one of his books that mentions a slide.

He can count to 10 with blocks....not sure if he can do more because that is as many as we have.

He recognizes words in books. If I point at the the word he says it and I can continue on reading.

He says countless words. I don't even know how many maybe 300.

If you do what starts with A he can name something and does it through the whole alphabet.

He knows all of his colors

I have not drilled him in any of this stuff. The majority he learned on his own from his toys and books. It seems like a lot to me but I don't know anyone else with kids his age and anyone with older kids don't remember. We had him evaluated a few months ago because of some issues socially, flapping arms and some cognitive things like not asking for things from us. He was found to be behind developmentally a little so he has a teacher come. She doesn't do this kind of stuff with him. They also did autism test which he came back ok. That was a major concern when he started being obsessive with letters at 17 months. So back to my original question...is this normal?

Edit: Oh yea, the other day he told me "Goldfish swim in water", he uses pronouns and very often proper verb tense. His teacher and I both noticed this last week.

Strange jealousy im feeling??

So one of my good friends is about to have her 3rd child in August. She has a 4 year old son, and a one year old son and will be having a little girl in Aug. So i have this extremely stange jealous feeling and i have no clue why!!! Its very irritating too, because she complains constantly about how she can barely afford her bills, but yet they are having ANOTHER baby and she just bought a new suv. I know its none of my business what they do with their family, but i would like to know why i am feeling this jealousy towards one of my BEST friends!

Last year we did cute invitations from vistaprint (very reasonable) and DH wants to do evites this year. I hate to have the added expense of invitations, postage, etc but are evites tacky?

So we are closing on the sale of our home on tuesday... with no house to go to!! We are going to move in with my in-laws cause my MIL watches Weston during the day for us. Im really nervous how im going to handle this. She is kind of a pack rat, and has a ton of things everywhereeee!! I am the complete opposite, im almost OCD about no clutter etc. Any advice for me???

I drive an '08 Chevy Malibu, which is a decent sized car. However it's starting to feel cramped to me. I only have one son who will be two in June, but it just doesn't ever seem like there's room enough for everyone. We're looking at getting a Tahoe or a Yukon for more space and possibly more seating. Does anyone else have this issue? Or if you drive a Tahoe or a Yukon how do you like it?

Mother's Day- question and mini vent

I can't believe Mother's Day is only a couple weeks away! Any exciting plans or traditions?

SIL (DH's brother's wife) invited us to brunch at her house but I really don't want to go. DH said we have to because she is reaching out to us and we barely see them. I want to stay home and relax, not spend 3 hours in the car, especially 3 days after we get home from vacation. I told DH I don't want to give up my mother's day for this and he said "Well they give up Easter." We host Easter every year but they are more than welcome to make other plans (and if my memory serves me then some years they have).

ok, who has done it? Who has been successful? What method did you use?

I've read that you don't want to miss the window and 18 months - 24 months is the magic time it should happen. After 2 years old it gets tougher as the child gets more independent.

I've read a lot about the 3 day method and I'm thinking about trying it soon. DD seems to be showing readiness signs and we've been practicing sitting on the potty and she's not scared of it anymore.

What's your plan?
