Intro & Question!

Hello! I used to lurk on TB when I was pg with DS who will be 2 in August, and now that I'm due with DS #2 in October, I've made my way back, but haven't posted yet!

Anyway, as stated above, my son is 22 months, turning two in August. We've been working on potty training him. Not pushing it too hard, but getting him used to the potty and he's gotten pretty good with it. He's started telling us when he has to go poopie on the potty, but not as good with letting us know when he has to go peepee.

So, about a handful of times over the last 4-6 weeks, he's taken is diaper off while in his crib (mostly nap time) and pees in his crib. He hadn't done it in a few weeks, so I thought maybe we were growing out of it as we got into potty training a little more. Fast forward to Monday and then again yesterday... he removed his diaper and pooped in his crib! Two days in a row! IDK what to do to get him to keep his diaper on and mostly not "go" in his bed!

Anyone dealt with this before? Any words of wisdom?

Twice this week DD1 has come up to me and told me she wanted to marry when she's "a grown up". I asked her if she meant she wanted to marry DH, but nope. She wants to marry ME. She's also asked me to kiss me on the lips several times, which is something we don't do (I know everyone is different, but DH and I prefer to keep kisses on the lips between us).

She always was a Mama's girl, but I certainly did not expect this. lol

Lydia Mae arrived at 12:50 pm yesterday. 6lbs 14oz 20 in. The birth story is pretty short. 7a pitocin, 8 am water broken at3 cm, 11 am epidural and 4 cm, 12:30 and ready to push. Dd was born 20 minutes later. I did have 2 tears (1 second degree) and an episiotomy. Oh well. Dd is a champ nurser. If she's awake and unlatched, she's screaming ;). Hazel is not too impressed but is having fun with grandparents. Yay babies!

DH and I were exhausted today. It was crummy outside. We resorted to laying in our bed in our pajamas while Joey jumped on us this afternoon.

Then DH farted a massive fart. Joey stopped dead in his tracks, yanked down DH's boxers, poked him in the butt and yelled "Dada!".

I'm still laughing.

1. I still haven't talked to DH about our not getting along since i went off the pill. I did drag him into the bedroom when I couldn't fall asleep tonight. But we're still not really talking. I told him I still think we need to talk but I was just too tired to get into it last night.

2. I can't freaking believe I still have 2 hours left at work. I'm so tired. This is one of those days where I'll be slapping myself in the face to stay awake on the drive home.

3. I just found something gross on my arm. I can't tell if it's part of my dinner or if Joey wiped his nose on me. I'm not sure I want to know.

4. The cat I rehomed to my mother apparently came running in the house with a baby bunny in his mouth. He didn't hurt it. Just picked it up by the scruff of it's neck and brought it in to cuddle apparently. The bunny was NOT having it.

It's getting to the point where I don't know what to do any more. She has become a nasty b!tch lately, and DH wants to rehome her. In fact, he has wanted to 'get rid of her' for awhile now.
Which is why I am conflicted.. today I was out running some errands and he claims she snapped at Stella while she was eating. She has only ever snapped one other time, and it was at me, when she was on the bed and I booted her off.
She has had fleas this season, despite being an inside dog with monthly treatments, frequent baths, etc. DH found one on himself and I found one on myself, and we are both concerned about them being on Stella. obviously we are treating the dog for them, but she still has some in the process.

She constantly waits until we are out oftthe room or gone to use the bathroom in the house, usually in Stella's play room or peeing on the same electrical cord, or you know, just a dump in the floor while we eat dinner.WWe take her out frequently, and she always has some home exceptwwhen we go out together rare, maybe 2x/ week for 3 hours. We have tried everything we know to get the behavior to stop, only allowing her food at set times, walks, longer walks, free time in the yard, puppy pads, carting but it is getting worse.
She was a rescue dog, 2 when we got her, and we have had her for almost a year. When we first got her she was very attached to me, and was essentially my dog my idea attachedto me. Now she will not come if I call her, and multiple times she has specifically scrapped on my clothes, on my purse once too.

I'm wondering if it is a separation anxiety issue, so I asked the vet. He says it is probably breed and age related. He offered medication, but saidit may not help and may cause worse behaviors, and diarrhea, itching, etc, so I didn't opt to try it.

I am beginning to regret ever getting her, and it hurts my heart because I do love her, but she is just not the family companion we thought she would be, and if she is going to continue the issues then I don't know what to do. Especially the snapping, which made Stella cry.

Birthday party

Is anyone not doing a birthday party for LO?

We had a party for DH on Sunday. It was only family and the only things I personally cooked were fruit salad, cake, and icing. Everyone brought a dish and H grilled. We had his graduation last night and I had to chase the boys there too. But, my hips hurt Sunday night so bad and today they still hurt and I'm still wiped out.

Anyway, DH really wants J to have a party, but I'm worried I will be super tired and not up for it. He promised to spend 30 minutes nightly helping me clean the house if we could have a party. But, I just don't know. I will be 37 weeks pregnant at the time and I really don't want to have the baby on his birthday.

Are you having a party for your LOs? Would you if you were 37 weeks pregnant?

Just curious if anyone's been through it, or is in the thick of the decision-making process. We are just starting to think about it all.

I don't think I'm going to get DD a bday gift. As of yesterday I ordered this:

Fancy wooden swing set

Water table

New bath toys

Disney cups

Not to mention the kids will have a big birthday bash. The above listed was easily 2k. I mean, would you worry about a gift? Maybe I'll hit up the dollar store or something. She's only 2 and has everything. Enough is enough, right?

I must be doing something right.

For a couple of months now, my youngest nanny kid (6) has been saying that he is going to be my butler when he grows up. His plan is to finish high school, go to butler school, and then be my butler. I think it's coming from the Disney Channel show Jesse lol. I just wish there was some way to get it in writing and hold him to it for all of the years in between now and high school when he realizes he doesn't actually want to be a butler.

Now if I could just get his older brother to be my lawn care/maintence man and DS to be my chef, I'd be all set.

Have I told you how hard this has been with twin tornadoes running amok in my house? They are BEASTS!! It's been HELL being a SAHM for the past week and a half. I have been focusing all of my efforts on the house, which causes them to act like fools to get my attention. It's been super trying on my patience, I've certainly lost it on them a few times and I'm having mom guilt. Remedying that with lots of plans for the weekend and early next week just mommy and boys.

August is right around the corner and I'm starting to get asked about birthday ideas for the kiddo. My Amazon Wish List for E is looking wimpy. So far it's mostly little things: a playdoh tool set, Melissa and Doug monster bowling set, and thanks to the post below, a bubble blower mower. For a big gift, I'm definitely thinking a play kitchen, like the Little Tikes Super Chef kitchen. I would add links, but I'm on mobile.

I used to sing to Hank all.the.time. We'd go to gym classes and learn new songs, bring them home and reinact the silly dances that went with them.

With Otis... well, it would seem as though the dear child has more sensitive ear drums or just a more refined musical taste than I can provide. Any time I get more than 5 words into a song, "AHHHHHH!!!!" until I stop. Then, he giggles hysterically.

It's making learning the ABC song, Slippery Fish, 5 Little Monkeys, etc. really, really difficult.

I think it's time to call in Raffi. ;)

Unnecessary angst

Well, looks like my angst over picking a doctor doesn't really matter, because this baby is coming today! 9 whole days late and I don't care, I'm just glad she's coming on her own terms.

At the hospital wih my epidural in place, so hoping to get some rest before its time to push. Wish me luck!!!

I have a bunch of stuff that was my mom's but I will never wear it nor do I have any attachment to this. I have a whole collection of nice things to keep for myself.

There are some chains, some studs, etc., that I'd like to get rid of, but I'm not sure what the best option is. I am not mailing this stuff off. I can either go to the generic kiosk in the mall, a jeweler in town, or a reputable coin dealer who is right down the street from my office.

I'm tempted to go to the coin dealer.

Roadtrip Highlights, Since MHa asked...

Okay ladies. Saturday night I embarked on a road trip to a surprise party for my Aunt's 60th birthday. It was me, my mother, my mother's boyfriend (S) and my insane uncle (R.) Things you should know: S is younger than me. R is actually nuts. We were all trapped together in a Honda Civic for roughly 96 minute each way. Not that I was counting. Here are the highlights, and there were many. Pull up a chair and get out the popcorn:

1. R insists he needs to drive so my mom and S can hold hands. Ummm..no. We would all like to make it there alive thank you.

2. In order to get R to stop talking about their insane abusive father, my mom tells us about going out the night before for a few drinks and dancing with her friend and her friend's designated driver. Except R knew the DD and hates her. Cue 45 minute rant about how she's horrible. Even finding out she's on her 4th divorce, alone, miserable and fat did not appease him or stop his ranting.

3. I finally shut him up by telling "R! Have you seen the new Superman movie?" Cue 25 minute lecture on everyone who has ever played Superman on television and the big screen.

4. We arrive at the party and the FIRST person to come up to me as I'm getting drinks with S throws her arms around me and says" Oh Kimbus! So good to see you! This must be your husband!" Cue Kimbus choking and yelling "NO!" and then throwing up in her mouth while S came up with some sort of more polite response.

5. Kimbus has 6 margaritas and informs her cousin's wife that she is awesome and far superior to all of her actual relatives.

6. S gets tanked. TANKED. He proceeds to ramble to me while we are alone at a table. Topics covered include my mother, my brothers, how much he hates my dad, how much he wants me to like him, how much he likes my kid, how he understands why I couldn't be in the same room with him for years etc and then culminates when he very panic strickenly tells me he has to pee. He says this like one might say "they're going to assassinate the President!". He was relieved when I told him it was okay to go pee.

7. We tell S we're leaving soon. He proceeds to mix a drink of vodka, Fresca and champagne. I taste it and inform him he may not drink it because I don't want it puked up on my shoes in the car.

8. In the car my mom is driving with R in the front. S is in the back with me. I'm feeding him carbs and water. He is randomly yelling "Oh for Pete's sake!" every five minutes or so. At no one in particular. Interspersed with "Your sister is a PIA!" and "Be nice to your mother!". And he keeps insisting he needs to drive because there are trucks and my mom dated a truck driver. I start laughing and my mom starts yelling "No! No! That's enough! No!"

9. S begins poking me in the side. Then proceeds to start poking me in the face. Then he randomly starts reaching forward and patting my uncle on the head like he's a puppy. This goes on for 20 minutes until he decides he wants ice cream. Cue R ranting about how Good Humor ice cream machine are a rip off because they give you Perry's Ice Cream.

10. We stop to pee and get Roy Rogers and Ice cream. My mom asks R where S is. R YELLS "He's still whizzing!" in the middle of the rest stop. I collapse to the floor in giggles and announce the fact that I'm done.

11. Back in the car S continues with "Oh for Pete's sake!" every few minutes. Then he puts his arm around me and asks me if it's inappropriate. I said yes but it's less disturbing than him petting R like a dog.

I was laughing hysterically the entire ride. I just could not believe it was real life. Apparently when my mom finally got S home, she couldn't get him in the house. She went in to get better shoes so she could drag him and found him passed out cold face down on her front steps. She got him in and dragged him to the couch. He woke up the next day and had NO recollection of anything. He's mortified. Apparently he didn't eat all day and then had a billion drinks. He's horribly embarrassed and I'm never going to let him live it down.

I'm sure I'll think of more. As though you want to read another novel lol.

I'm still whiny too

This adjusting to being off the pill just sucks. I'm still all cranky. Everything and everyone annoys me.

I have a stupid dentist appt this morning and DH has two meetings this afternoon and needs me to wrangle Joey. I almost hit him because he was all, "I don't know why you're complaining. You can sleep from 10:30-1:30." Suck it, dude who is cranky all dang day if he gets 6 hours of sleep instead of 8. I slept ONE hour before work last night. I've been up 23 of the last 24 hours and you think I shouldn't whine because I have time for a 3 hour nap? Seriously, suck it.

We have been snapping at one another something awful. I know we really need to talk about what's going on but ugh. I just don't want to. We're going to argue and I just don't care. I just want to stomp around and seethe and ignore him. Which will obviously fix it all lol

I'm such a beatch
