Beta drop and then rise again??

I was told last thursday that I was having a mc. My beta went from 73 to 33. When I didn't mc over the weekend like they expected they ordered more blood work. It came back at 315 a week later. The RE and nurse don't seem optimistic at all.

I need to hear some good beta dropping/rising stories please!

Hey ladies, a little birdy told me I was being thought of over here. So sweet of you ladies! I hope you are all doing well! Things have been crazy for me the last several weeks. Here is a XP from the November board I posted.

I hope you ladies have been well, I've missed it here.

I had another small spotting episode a few weeks ago which freaked me out. But, baby has been well.

Then, we found out MIL has a brain tumor. This came out of no where. She's been fine, no signs of anything, healthy. But after one of IL's ballroom dance lessons, she had a seizure, came out of no where, was feeling fine all day. In fact, I was with her until they left for that dance lesson and there were no signs of anything wrong. Everything happened so fast. She was rushed to the hospital, CAT scans and MRI's were done where they found a spot on her brain. She was admitted and we found out a few days later from a line of doctors, (Neurologist, Neurosurgeon, Neuro-oncologist) That they believed it was a tumor. A few days later she was having brain surgery. We are currently still waiting on pathology to determine what kind it is and she is currently in rehab to gain strength back. We are hoping for the best news possible, and as of right now, the doctors believe it to be a low-grade slow growing tumor, which usually means benign. Unfortunately, the tumor is too large and incorporates normal brain tissue, so it is inoperable as far as being given the option to have some of it removed before chemo and/or radiation.

Please, if you can and if you remember, keep her in your T&P's. She's such a special person, and I really want her to be around for this little one. This would be her fist grandchild, and she's been waiting so long for this.

Also, in more baby related news, we found out we are having a girl on Monday!

I really hope to not be so disconnected from here anymore. We don't need any more emergencies. We've had enough. My mom just finished chemo and radiation herself last month for breast cancer.

I failed my GTT!

I had my one hour GTT yesterday. The nurse just called to let me know my results came back high. I have to do the three hour test next Tuesday.

Starting off wth the sweetI heard and saw my baby's heartbeat today at 6 weeks 1 day! Which is truly the only thing that matters to me right now.

The bitter, I got laid off yesterday from job. ber depressing and was totally out of the clear blue. I'm really concerned about what I should do. I made a pretty good living so the lack of money will hit our family pretty hard and of course I'm worried about paying through the nose for crappy insurance. I never thought I'd say this, but I don't know if I should start looking for another job before I start showing or ride out unemployment. Going to be a lot harder to find a job and keep it while pregnant, especially in my field. Ugh...I just gotta keep the stres low and focus on the peanut!

So, pardon my nosiness, but--how's your sex life? I feel like mine disappeared recently and I'm not sure if I will get my mojo back before the LO's arrive. I'm obviously still attracted to my DH, but at night I am tired, and have like....only 1 position that will really work anymore, and it all feels so mechanical and like so much effort I just don't bother. Interestingly, neither is DH, but I do kind of complain about my heavy belly and things. Am I being a slacker? I know that we will be completely abstaining a while after they are here so maybe I should be taking advantage now? I'm curious where everyone else is at on this...

Beta #1...Hope you'll have me back, for hopefully 9months this time!!!

Beta #1 14dpiui after horrible odds bc of DH's un-motile sample and horrible odds is.... And the drumroll...... 327!!! The nurse started by saying, well it's most definitely positive!!! I had 2 mature follies....eek! Praying so so hard this is our sticky baby(ies!?) and we will not have to face a 4th miscarriage. Feeling positive about is one!!! Prayers for a long 9 months happily accepted!!!!! Repeat beta Tuesday due to the weekend and holiday! Stick and grow baby, stick and grow!!!

Hi Ladies! I figured I'd intro over here now that we've had a few good beta results. My name is Heather and I'm 26, DH is Matt and he's 27. As a little background, I was diagnosed with anovulatory PCOS when I was a teen and we have been trying for about 18 months. We've had a frustrating road getting to this point, but finally got our BFP resulting from IVF the Friday before Mother's Day. We live ~1/2 an hour south of Boston in a townhouse that we bought about a year and a half ago... which we share with our 3 cats (I'm not really a crazy cat lady, I promise!)

We're extremely excited, but also being realistic. I know there's a lot that can happen between now and having a healthy take home baby, but obviously we're hoping for the best. I've had three betas drawn so far, and my RE has been very happy with the results (499 at 16dpER, 1111 at 18dp, and 2711 at 21dp). I'm done with betas for now and our next step will be our first u/s on 6/4. We can't wait for it, especially since we had two embryos transferred... I just need to find out how many stuck! if all looks good, I'll be discharged from my RE that day and be able to move on to a regular OB!

I'm an open book, so feel free to ask anything you'd like to know! :)

I've been so excited to make this post! The next milestone is birth!!! I can't believe my baby boy will be here so very soon! This pregnancy went by so very fast! With all that I've gone through Pre pregnancy with IF and the bleeding/bed rest in first/second tri I can honestly say I'd do it ALL OVER AGAIN!

I feel like I have SO much more to do before he gets here! I'm lucky to be able to just stay at home, but its the energy I'm praying for! It's definitely getting harder to move around. I had to ask DH to dry my legs last night. Haha

Im so grateful for you all! I honestly don't know what I would have done without all you ladies. Yes, talking with DH is helpful and I am so incredibly lucky to have him and his support! But it's really nice to have a group of ladies to come to that know almost exactly whst I am and have and will go through!

Okay ladies, I'm doing some research for a friend and was hoping you can help. My friend and her husband are in the early stages of IF testing. They just started going to the same RE that I went to, and really liked it there, but haven't gotten very far in the process. They are relocating for work and moving to Seattle next month, and want to get started on more testing and whatnot as soon as possible, but has no idea who to go to. Does anyone have any recommendations???? Any input or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Need some support...cervical thinning

So I went for my every-other-week ultrasound today and we found that Baby A's large head is ballooning out my uterus and thinning out my cervix. I went from 4.5cm at 10 weeks to now 3.1cm at 16 weeks. Doctor recommended modified bed rest, I'm out of work for 2 weeks (at least), and I start vaginal progesterone tomorrow. He said hopefully he can lift restrictions after 2 weeks but is nervous I'll get to a point where I thin so much that I go into PTL. Anyone have any advice or experience in this area? I am just so nervous! TIA.

GD Test and Crib Yay!

1 - Just called my clinic and I passed my 1hr GD test! Yay! I'm so relieved over this. I have no idea why I was so stressed over it, but for some reason I just felt like I was going to fail it haha I think she said I had a 99 and they want anything under 140.

2 - Our crib finally arrived the other day! I put it together last night and it looks awesome. I'm so happy with it. My dad actually bought the mattress for me too and that showed up this afternoon too!

Now I'm fighting with DH because his dresser is in the way of the crib. He barely uses that stupid dresser but absolutely refuses to get rid of it. Did I mention this guy has 14 drawers, 1/4 closet space, and 2 additional shelves for his clothing (not to mention the clothes that always seem to be all around the entire house)? He doesnt even dress nice enough to take up so much space!

But anyway, I am happy over my GD test and Crib. I'll have to post some pics later since I also painted the room last weekend!

Third beta and the end of PIO!

Hi everyone,

I had my third and final beta today at 5 w 2d with a result of 4100. I thought that looked good until I used one of those stupid beta calculators and saw that the doubling time from my last beta (last Thursday with a 442) was 52 hours! I thought we were looking for 48 hours or less doubling time? Between beta 1 and 2 it was 36 hours. But then I saw that maybe the hcg increase slows as the level rises? I know I'm being obsessive but how can you not? My ultrasound 6/3 is soo far away!

Also tonight is my last PIO injection. I mentioned at my blood draw this morning that I was having a reaction that I thought was related to the band aids after the shot but a nurse checked it out. When my nurse called with the results she said she would switch me to crinone. Not sad to be done with the shots since recently they have left welts and been super itchy/rashy but I hope it's enough progesterone to keep things moving along! Anyone else switch or have a rash?

Blood work before stopping progesterone?

Did your doctor test your progesterone levels before you stopped taking progesterone supplements? I've been on Endometrin suppositories 2x/day, and I'll be 11 weeks when I use my last pills. My doctor doesn't do a blood draw; I'm just supposed to stop taking them.

I'm just nervous and wondering what the norm is.

XP: Flying in the First Tri....

Is it safe? DH and I have a wedding in NC the first week of June (he is a groomsmen so he has to go) but I am nervous about flying, especially since we will only be a little over 6 weeks at the time. Has anyone else flown or will you be flying in the first tri? We've worked so hard for this 2nd baby, I don't want to screw anything up! TIA!

I'm torn between these two. MH votes gator. I'm kinda digging the elephants. The nursery is yellow, white furniture, and I'm either painting a blue or gray accent wall with a yellow horizontal stripe depending on which one I choose - blue with the gator, gray with the elephants. No bumpers for either but I would do that madras style of the gator bumper for curtains.

I have a question I am trying to avoid asking my nurse! I was instructed no sex after ET until beta. But after the betas I did not hear otherwise. Anyone else have similar instructions and know when it is ok to change this? I am so nervous to screw anything up! Final blood test is tomorrow and then ultrasound is June 3rd.

Prednisone & Pregnancy Symptoms

Is anyone on here taking prednisone for elevated nk cells? I've been on prednisone for a month and I am currently 6 weeks. My betas were rising on track but I'm worried because my symtoms aren't really getting worse. My breasts have been tender since my BFP and once or twice a day I feel pressure in my uterus. I don't even feel tired and I wonder if that's because the prednisone is actually giving me energy.

Has anyone found prednisone to mask their pregnancy symptoms?

I just want my symptoms get worse until my first u/s next week. I'm nervous and I the waiting is the awful!

short pain w/ sneezing?

Does anyone else experience a short/sharp/stabbing pain in their lower abdomen when they sneeze? I have been experiencing this for last few weeks. it only lasts a few seconds after sneeze (maybe 5)

I get scared to sneeze because i know it is going to hurt, so i find myself actually grabbing my abdomen to like "cradle" it when i have to sneeze. I have no other pains, issues, cramping or anything abnormal that makes me worry. More just curious if this is normal.

Just for laughs: i just peezed for the first time ever in my life! I've read about this happening to pregnant women and never understood how it could happen...i get it now!!! LMAO
