swelling question

Hi late night gals. I am awake later than I think I have been this entire pregnancy, due to intense swelling in my hand. I got my blood pressure checked at the 24 hour pharmacy about an hour ago and it was a bit high, so I checked it again and it was just lower than normal. My hands, legs, fingers and feet are swollen today, which is not uncommon for me, but my right hand is tingly and numb all the way up to my shoulder, is much more swollen than the other, and it is actually aching and throbbing. Since my blood pressure was normal, I was going to wait to call the doctor in the morning, thinking it may be Carpel Tunnel. Any advice on experience with swelling or carpel tunnel is appreciated. Thank you.

by the end of both o fmy previous pregnancies both hands went completely numb. I couldn't feel my right hand for like 2 months and my left hand went numb for 1 month and it stayed that way until about 6 weeks post birth

I haven't had any swelling or experience with carpal tunnel, but do you have an advice nurse you can call? That's probably what I would do.

Unfortunately I don't. It is either call the Doctor whom is on call in Labor and Delivery, or wait it out a few hours till morning.

In that case, I'd do exactly what you're doing. And probably wait it out. But, again, no experience with this.

Thank you both for your advice. I'm making sure to drink a lot of fluids and resting, trying to reduce swelling. Goodnight gals.

I would call.  The BP cuffs at the drugstores aren't super reliable, and I have had pre-e.  While it could be just swelling, you really need to be evaluated by a doctor.
