My doctor said you can take regular Claritin.  Also Sudafed, Benadryl and Zyrtec.

I have taken Claritin D 24 for years and Singular. My allergies are so bad that I can't go with out it, so my Dr has kept me on it.

I was told regular claritin is ok.. however Claritin is one of those drugs that takes time to work, you have to build it up in your system. I think Benadryl is ok, I would take that since it works immediatly.

I take Claritin D  everyday because like OP I have to or else I don't breathe.  And oxygen is vitalSmile  If it gets really bad, I take a benadryl at night.  DS #! turned out ok, LOL.

Hey, claritin does better for outdoor allergies, Zyrtec does better for indoor and outdoor allergies.  Zyrtec is perfectly safe. I take it every single day. Just the plain old ordinary Zyrtec.

My OB said Claritin and Zyrtec are both fine, but she prefers Zyrtec (just b/c she thinks it works better, not b/c it's safer.)  I take Zyrtec everyday and so far everything has been fine.

My babies for now...
