reintroducing breastfeeding after two day break

we took a two day break from breastfeeding and used formula b/c it appears that LO has some bad allergies and we're trying to deal with that.  any advice on re-introducing breastfeeding after the two day break?  i assume i just put him on the breast and go, right?

also, i pumped a bunch of milk while we were on the break, but with the allergies, i should probably discard, right?  i've heard it takes almost two weeks for cow's milk proteins to leave your system ...

I am in the same boat as you- except I had to take a two day break b/c my nipples were bleeding and severely cracked.

At some pointtoday I am going to give it a whirl and just corss my fingers.  I don't know if I should try a different position or go back to the one that was most comfortable.  I won't lie- I am a little gunshy but I am also dying to get back into it.  So I think you just put him on and go!

And I would guess that you should discard your milk if yo uwere dealing with an allergy.

GL!

This is me. Our two day break was last weekend and he went right back to breast. :-) Thankfully. I just put him on and he was happy to be there. I did have to correct his position a little to remind him that it wasn't a bottle nipple.

Because of bleeding and fissures,  I actually took 48 hour break then nursed one time the next day and slowly worked up to every feeding. This was just to give my nipples more heal time, has nothing to do with reintroduction.

Any advice for reintroducing the breat after a few days of no pumping or feeding. I am afraid that my supply is low b/c when I was feedling and puming I was only pumping 1oz n 1/2. I have / am speaking with a lactation consultant who told me that my flow is probably slow and supply low which has discouraged me to continue (LO would fall asleep all the time). I was thinking about trying fenugreek to increase supply and than resume?? Should I resume BF and how or should i just continue with bottle feeding (would love to resume BF). Any suggestions will be helpful.
