Need Pediatrician allowing alternate vaccine schedule! Please help, can't find one!

I also posted this question on the Boston Boards.. however, since I live close to the RI border I figured I may as well reach out to Rhode Islanders and see if anyone can help me:

So I am pretty bummed to say the least. My childhood pediatrician is refusing to accept my daughter into her practice once she is born because I want to follow an alternate vaccine schedule (Dr. Bob Sears). I have found that pretty much every practice I contact is telling me they will not accept my daughter unless she gets all the recommended vaccinations. PLEASE HELP me find a pediatrician that accepts patients on a modified schedule! If any of you know any doctors that do, I'd really appreciate it if you could refer me to them.  I am willing to travel anywhere in RI or MA to find a doctor with an open mind when it comes to vaccines.

For those of you unfamiliar with the modified vaccine schedule:

Dr. Sear's Alternative Vaccine Schedule

  • 2 months: DTaP, Rotavirus
  • 3 months*: Pc, HIB
  • 4 months: DTaP, Rotavirus
  • 5 months*: Pc, HIB
  • 6 months: DTaP, Rotavirus
  • 7 months*: Pc, HIB
  • 9 months: Polio (IPV)
  • 12 months: Mumps, Polio (IPV) (See 3rd UPDATE)
  • 15 months: Pc, HIB
  • 18 months: DTaP, Chickenpox
  • 2 years: Rubella, Polio (IPV) (See 3rd UPDATE)
  • 2 1/2 years*: Hep B, Hep A (start Hep B at birth if any close relatives or caregivers have Hep B)
  • 3 years: Hep B, Measles (See 3rd UPDATE)
  • 3 1/2 years*: Hep B, Hep A
  • 4 years: DTaP, Polio (IPV)
  • 5 years: MMR
  • 6 years: Chickenpox
  • 12 years: Tdap, HPV
  • 12 years, 2 months*: HPV
  • 13 years: HPV, Meningococcal (once Meningococcal vaccine is approved for age 2, Dr. Sears will move it there and delay Hep B by 6 months)

Glad you posted here dont know if this will help but in uxbridge there is tri-river pediatrics and they will work with you on how you want to do the shots and they are wonderful about checking out all the options before dispensing medicine. we have Dr. David Tapscott and the Nurse practioner is Peggy . it is wonderful newborns don't go into the waiting room untill 2 months. dr tapscott did a meet and greet with me and he asked me what was plan on his shots he told me some parents forgo it and thats their choice but will give you the facts. they also have after hours during the week and on weekends. good luck hope this help. the hospital they use is milford but if it is asthma or diabetes related they use umass.

I know my friend goes to Lincoln Pediatrics and does a different vac. schedule....not sure if it this one but it is not the norm.  I would hope that any dr would go with what your view is on vac.   It is still your right as a parent to give or not to give vaccines

We go to Dr. Fox at Pediatric Associates and he's not excited about it but is working with us on an alternative schedule.

The linky isn't working in Chrome, but here is the link to their website.

You can call Toll Gate Pediatrics - Dr Zarlengo is amazing and is willing to work with alternate vaccine schedules. He is my sons Pedi and is amazing - we adore him! They are in Warwick RI by Kent Hospital

I go to Lincoln Pediatrics and they have let me do a delayed schedule...pretty similar to Dr. Sears.
