I don't usually post on the CT board - just lurk, but I saw your post and had to comment. I grew up in Shelton, so Griffin has always been our hospital. I was born there in the 70's and they have handled all of the emergency care for my family (my brother's appendectomy as a kid, my grandmother's heart attack, etc). They are a kind and caring hospital with no visiting hours. My mom has volunteered there too and had great things to say. From what I understand the birthing center is new and beautiful. I guess there are actual beds in the rooms as opposed to hospital beds.
Hope this helps!
