*~*~April Chicks Check In~*~*

There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the timing of my posting the check-in. I want to catch up with everyone and this seems faster than reading the posts from the last week! Perhaps it is an abuse of my power? Smile

Good luck to all our chickies stimming! Looks like we may have some ER's early next week, so I'll post another check-in Monday or Tuesday.

Update us if you have any changes/dates/etc. Let me know if I missed anyone's update from last week. And let me know if I have the list correct or if you are doing IVF/FET in April and want to be added.

QOTW: Do you like where you live? Did you move there by choice? Do you plan on staying there long term?

Update: just back from monitoring, 14 follies between 11-14mm, even on both sides and looking better thus far than IVF#1. Looks like ER 4/4 now. It will be a long few days for me. PGD on day 5 and FET in early June at this stage.

QOTW: Do you like where you live? Did you move there by choice? Do you plan on staying there long term?

I live in LA, I am from Australia and have been here for 6+ years. I love LA, just a long way from the family and friends. We brought a new house in late 2010 and renovated it and I love it. If feels like home to me now as it is what we both worked on so hard to make perfect. I have no plans on moving back to Australia at this stage but time will tell. If we ever have kids I would like them to be schooled there, maybe even just college. We will see.

Aloha tst1998!  How was your vacation?  I hope it was everything you had hoped it would be and more!  Paradise

UPDATE: I start Lupron tomorrow and stims on Monday for this new flare protocol.  I went in for my pre-lupron u/s this past Wednesday.  Surprise.  Surprise.  Cysts.  One on each ovary.  You would think a month of BCP would have killed off those nasty buggers, but no...of course not...that would make the start of the cycle too easy.  I detest cysts...they have given me so many issues, but at this point...they are remaining small enough to keep the cycle moving forward.  I guess we will know more next Friday at my next u/s after five days of heavy stimming.  Fingers, toes, everything crossed that these two cysts don't interfere.

QOTW: I live in Northern California.  In the valley between the coast and mountains.  DH and I love the outdoors so we like that we are centrally located, but we dream of living in Montana, Colorado, or Washington.  Maybe someday...

I've had two monitoring appointments this week.  I go back again tomorrow.  Yesterday I had an even number of follies on each side and they are about 9-11 at this point.  The nurse was thinking that Monday would be too soon for an ER but I probably won't need to wait until next Friday so mid-week I'll hopefully have my ER.  I'm feeling ok.  Just a little bloated and tired.  I get worn out easier than I normally do and when I walk around sometimes I can feel my ovaries, although it's not painful, I just feel them.  Hope everyone else is doing well!

I live in Upstate NY and have my whole life.  So has DH.  Much of our families are in town so we don't plan on moving ever.  I love where we live.  Just outside of Rochester.  And as much as I hate winter, I don't mind it so much in the grand scheme of things.  I love the change in seasons we have here.

Well I *think* I am starting to spot! So YAY! AF should be here by tomorrow then. My first monitoring appt. is Monday morning and I should then start estrace for FET #1. I am so excited!!!

QOTW: Well, where I live is home. I am upstate NY near Albany.  Both DH and I grew up around here. We would actually like to move to western NY. I have some family there, we went to college there and we have friends there as well. However, I am not sure it's in the cards. It's not that I don't like it here, there just is limited jobs in our fields. The one helpful thing about staying here though is we will have plenty of free daycare once we do get little ones.

Hello chickadees!

An update on me: I have been on Lupron for 11 days now with very minimal side effects. The biggest side effect was exhaustion. That also could be attributed to my significant reduction in caffeine, but I think it is the Lupron. I get very tired at night. I am normally a night owl, but have moved my bedtime up by about 3 hours.  I also noticed that once I stopped BCP and my estrogen dropped, I started getting headaches. Not bad, but low and dull. Tylenol didn't help, but they weren't debilitating so I push through.

I start Stims tomorrow - 300 Follistim and then on Monday, I drop to 150 Follistim and add in 75 Menopur. My first monitoring ultrasound will be Friday, April 6. That's Good Friday, so I am hoping it will be a Good Friday indeed!

QOTW: I live in Dallas, TX and I love it. I grew up in Shreveport, LA and then lived in Baton Rouge for 6 years. I moved to Dallas almost 15 years ago and while I will always be a Louisiana girl at heart, Texas is my home and I am a proud Texan. I actually moved here to follow a boy (oh the irony), but we broke up 3 months later. I live in the city of Dallas in my recently remodeled tiny 2 BR shoe box condo. I stay here because my mortgage is cheap and I am paying OOP for IVF. However, once I get pregnant, pay off this IVF and save up some cash, I will probably buy or build a house out in the suburbs.

Welcome back TST - I hope you had a fabulous vacation!

Good luck to everyone this coming week and have a fantastic weekend!!!

Update: Vacation was lovely, but not long enough. I needed 2 or 3 more days of lounging on the beach. FET's are boring. I'm still on estrace. That's pretty much all I'm doing until suppression check on 4/5. Then I get to keep taking estrace. One of these days I start PIO.

QOTW: I grew up in Idaho, but moved to Seattle when I was 15 so this is home. I've tried living in San Diego, but as much as I complain about the rain here, I actually missed it, so we came back. We'll probably stay here, unless my new job doesn't work out. I had to sign a 50 mile non-compete agreement, so if I leave here, we have to move because I refuse to commute 50 miles. At which point we will probably look at either Portland, OR or San Diego.

Welcome back tst1998, I hope you had a wonderful time in Hawaii.

I am on Day 7 of stims.  Went in for u/s this morning and things aren't looking good.  My follies are growing disproportionately and I have a lead follie on my right already at 19mm.  I have maybe 5 follies on my right, 3 on my left, but they are all 10mm or less :(  Waiting on my blood work estradiol results and they will decide what to do, but I have a feeling I'm going to be converted to IUI.  So disappointed in my body right now.

QOTW: Do you like where you live? Did you move there by choice? Do you plan on staying there long term?  I live in Houston and have lived here for almost all of my life.  We moved here so that my parents could find better jobs and get away from the snow (we were living in Michigan).  I love the fact that we have a rich culture, great food, low cost of living in Houston.  Hate the summer humidity.  I think we are waiting to see where our jobs will take us to decide if we will stay here long term.

Hello to everybody, and welcome back, tst1998!

Sorry to hear about the disproportionate follies, MrsNukem.  I hope things improve ...

I'm on day 5 of stims.  The first night was so confusing I thought I wasn't going to be able to get the injection ready -- but I did, and it's gotten easier every night.  I haven't really felt any side effects, other than bloating similar to how I usually feel before ovulation.  The only difference is that it's started earlier and is lasting longer.

First follie check tomorrow AM -- wish me luck!

QOTW: I've lived in NYC for ten years, and always wanted to live here.  I grew up about 2 hours away in CT and always loved visiting.  We live in Astoria, Queens now, and I will probably stay until we buy a place. Then we'll probably consider Brooklyn, Upper Manhattan, or Jackson Heights in Queens.

Welcome back from tst1998!

Update:  My baseline u/s has been scheduled for the 10th.  I'm nervous!  I am hoping my AFC hasn't changed in the last month.  I get worried since my AMH was only 0.67.

I am over 1 week of caffeine free and I gave up my sick addiction to diet coke!  It's been rough this week adjusting to no caffeine.  Luckily the headaches only lasted a couple days.  I've only had 1 day where I craved a diet coke really bad.  I didn't give in and am so proud of myself!  This is a huge thing for me.  I was drinking like 6-8 a day during the week and nearly a 12 pack a day on the weekends.

QOTW: Do you like where you live? Did you move there by choice? Do you plan on staying there long term?

We currently live just north of downtown Cincinnati OH in a city called West Chester.  When we bought our condo this was as far south as we could go because DH was commuting 2 hours each day to work.  I've lived in the Cincinnati area my whole life.  DH is from Toledo but transferred here about 7yrs ago for work.  Our hope is to move further south-- Near downtown or just over the river in N. Kentucky.  There isn't a whole lot to do where we are at and closer to the river there is tons of stuff to do including more restaurants.  We both love food Sad.

Update:  Started stims Weds. 3/28.  I had fewer resting follicles than usual (7-8 versus 10-12 -- boo hoo) so we'll see how this goes.  I get bloodwork drawn tomorrow morning.

QOTW:  I live in brownstone Brooklyn and love it.  My neighborhood is architecturally beautiful, green, and walkable, and has lots of decent restaurants and cute shops.  I moved here by choice -- I've lived all over NYC (I'm originally from the Midwest), and when it was time to buy an apartment, my husband and I settled in this neighborhood as the best balance of all worlds (convenience, recreation, beauty, price, nearby friends, etc.). The main downside, at least right now:  babies and little kids EVERYWHERE.

Me: 39. DH: 41. TTC since 2009.
FSH: 9.5 at highest. AMH (11/2011): 0.9. AFC: 10ish. HSG: Normal. SA: Normal.

April 2012: IVF #1: FSH 9.2, AFC 7-8. Antagonist protocol.
Started stims (300iu Gonal-F, 150iu Menopur) 3/28.
Added ganirelix 4/1. Trigger 4/5 (7 follies). ER 4/7: 7R, 0M, 0F. :-(

Nov. 2012: IVF #2: Long Lupron protocol.
Started Lupron 10/27. AFC 10+. Started stims (300iu Follistim, 150iu Menopur) 11/8.
Trigger 11/18 (7 follies). ER 11/20: 9R, 1M, 1F. 3dt of my one 6-cell embie on 11/23: BFN.

Dec. 2012: Hail Mary IUI cycle with leftover IVF meds: BFN.

Not much of an update: on Lupron which hasn't given me a bruise since the 2nd injection. Every morning though I get the song "Neutron Dance" inmy head. This morning DH and I sang "Lupron Bleed" to the tune.

Q: we live in the Twin Cities, in Minnesota. We both grew up here and we like it. Right now we're living in a house that DH bought 13 years ago. We like it but we'd like to move further out of the city, to a place with a barn, where we have some land and I can keep bees. :) DH complains about the winter but I like it.

Hey chickies! Welcome back tst!

UPDATE: Not much going on here. Still on Lupron and have my suppression check on Monday. FX that I will get the green light to start my stims!

QOTW: I live in Central MA, and have been here the past 5 years. DH and I are originally from CT, but we moved to be closer to our jobs. We bought a house in a small town with a great school system, so just waiting to utilize it! Every winter I tell DH we are moving somewhere that is warm and has palm trees, but I haven't had too much to complain about this past winter :)

After 5 TI Clomid cycles, 5 IUIs, and 2 IVFs we finally got our BFP!

winofairy:

I switched to caffeine free diet coke and it tastes just the same to me. Maybe a little "flatter" but definitely helps cut my addiction.

Single Mother by Choice.
Life didn't work out the way I planned so I did it on my own.

Update: Nothing to report. Just waiting for AF, likely to hit next weekend.

QOTW: I do like where I live in Canada, but I am there for training and have a job waiting for me across the country once I'm done in about a year from now (hoping training will be extended by the need for a mat leave). It does put a timeline on us for IVF though since our sperm will be on one side of the country and we'll be on the other a year from now.

Nothing new going on here. I did get my meds yesterday. Just waiting on one more to come. Less than a week before I start stims.

QOTW- no, I do not like where we live. We do not live here by choice, we had to move bc of DH's job. We will be here for as long as DH is in his job. He has begun looking at a few jobs in FL. I think that would be nice.

That's great news, MrsNukem!

I just got back from my second monitoring appointment, and while I didn't count exactly, I seem to have about 10 follicles between 12 and 19 mm.  The RE said I'm likely to trigger on Wednesday night and have my ER on Friday, 4/6.

I'm excited, and hope this week goes quickly.  I'm feeling pretty achy and bloated, and I can only imagine it's going to get worse as the week goes on.  But I'm happy to have made it this far, so I'm not really complaining ... :)

Me = 37, PCOS DH = 43, low-ish morphology

IUI #2 (Femara), 7/11 = BFN

Planning for IVF #2 in January 2013.
Everybody welcome.

I've been gone since thurs for an anniversary trip, so Im a little late to check in. Oops!

I started BCPs on Saturday night and am waiting on a call from my IVF nurse coordinator to schedule my SHG and trial transfer.

QOTW: I'm ok with where we live (near Akron, OH). We moved here because of DHs job, but our family is mostly in Ohio, so it's nice to have them 45 min to 2 hours away. We may or may not stay here long term, but at least another 2 years.
