When do symptoms start?

Hi ladies, I'm totally new at this. I got my BFP last week and am about 4 weeks along. My doctor doesn't see patients til they are 8 weeks so I don't have an appointment until mid October. So far I have mild heart burn that comes and goes, very mild cramping (feels like gas) and am tired but to be honest I'm always falling asleep in front of the TV before 9pm so thats nothing new. When do symptoms start? Also am I the only one who is nervous that if there are no symptoms that the pregnancy has just vanished? I just want this baby so badly! :)

It's different for everyone.  With my first I had fatigue, nausea, and food aversions starting around 7w.

With my twins it was from exactly 5w until exaclty 6w.

With this pg I had fatigue start around 4w, and since then it's come and gone.  I had 2 days of nausea, and a week or two of horrible aversions and hardly ate anything (I lost 5 pounds in less than a week because I couldn't eat anything).

Don't worry about the symptoms, some people's body are able to handle the hormones better than others (no idea if that's grammatically correct, sounds strange but I can't think of what would make it better - any English teachers?).  You'll probably get symptoms later and kick yourself for being sad not having them right now.

You sound just like me!  I am seven weeks along and since I found out I have gone from one week of symptoms, to one week without, etc.  I am all over the board and I too kept thinking that the baby just vanished!  But you would know if you had a miscarriage, so I would just be happy that you are symptom free for now, because it won't always be that way  :-)  Or you just might be one of those lucky ladies who doesn't have any morning sickness, cramps, etc.  :-)

They normally say that any signs of morning sickness show up around 6 weeks, but everyone is different.  I had sore boobs since I tested positive and they have just gotten worse but no morning sickness for me :)  Hopefully for you too!  GL with the pregnancy and congrats!

First - congrats :)

Second - Everyone is different, as is each pregnancy. Don't be nervous if you aren't having any symptoms. They will come and go. The last time I was pregnant I didn't really have any symptoms (nausea and exhaustion) until about week 6. This time it started a bit earlier. A friend of mine is 10 weeks and has felt great the whole time.

Waiting for that first appointment is nerve wracking. So try to relax and enjoy your good days!

It depends. With my first I was nauseous before I even took a test. With this one I don't have many symptoms at all, not even the intense cramping I had last time.

Of course everyone is different. For me, with my first I didn't really have any symptoms like nausea until around 9 weeks. This time my boobs hurt immediately (and I think they double in size in a week) I also started feeling nauseous around 6 weeks.

There are some (lucky) moms coming up on 2nd tri in my group who still haven`t really had any symptoms except for some tiredness. I had lower back aches like period cramps about 4 weeks, and m/s that started at 6 wks. and hasn`t gone away.

Its normal to be worried about not having symptoms, but try to just enjoy it while you can. Instead just think that until your appt., if there are no bad symptoms like cramping and spotting then baby is doing good!

Don't worry, I didn't have my first doctor's appointment until I was 10 weeks and everything was totally fine! It is hard to wait though. Especially when my symptoms started waning at 8 or so weeks, I was freaking out that something was wrong... but once I finally got the doctor, I felt WAY better.

For me, my boobs hurt RIGHT AWAY. I had a lot of cramps from weeks 4-7 or so. Morning sickness hit at about 6 weeks, which was basically nausea 24/7. It was only REALLY bad for 2-3 weeks. Now I only get nausea occasionally. But I was lucky, most people get it way worse!

It varies, but for most people, serious symptoms don't start quite so early. I think 6 weeks or so is pretty average/normal.

5/6 weeks for me. It was cramps, then boobs, then nausea. My nausea is pretty light though. If you eat snacks in between meals, or generally a lot of little meals it will help. Don't let yourself get to empty.

Thank you.  That's how I had it originally typed out, but then thought that "bodies" didn't work because I don't have more than 1 body.
