Let's Talk Christmas Cards...

OK Ladies,

FTM expecting in Early March - I am starting to think about Christmas Cards for this coming year... I usually have them ordered and stamp/address them on Thanksgiving Morning during the parade.

Our family already knows we are expecting so it's not like a Christmas Card Announcement... There are some cards for expecting families but we probably won't do that because they are announcement-like.

Have you seen anything cute come through for Christmas from others expecting? (Like a bow around the belly for a family picture card, or a picture of 2 snowmen with a baby snowman saying coming soon or something different like that?)

Do you acknowledge the baby in the card somehow?

Would you sign "Love - Jack, Jill and Baby X" ?

I have seen both the ribbon around the belly and pictures where mom is holding a sign/chalk board with an arrow pointing to her belly indicating baby #1, 2, whatever.  You could also use a small prop that you and your husband hold, and put another on your belly (like an ornament, stocking, or mistletoe).  Or maybe stand in front of a fireplace with 3 stockings?

Not sure about signing "baby X"- maybe you could just sign, "Love, The Smiths."  I did sign Baby X for my shower thank yous, but didn't use it on any other cards while pregnant.

While I was pregnant I signed greeting cards "Love, Dan, Gianna, Baby D & Baylie" (Baylie is the dog).

I wouldn't do a bump-centric Christmas card, I'd find that a tad over the top and sorta cringe-worthy if I received one.  It's kind of like those bare bump photos people take that are like boudoir shots for pregnant women.  They can be really beautiful but they're not everyone's cup of tea, so they should remain private, IMO.

I like the idea of three stockings.  Maybe a cute pose of you and DH hanging the third stocking?

I'm due January 10th.  I use boxed Christmas cards and include a family photo.  Last year was our wedding photo.  This year will be maternity pictures.

I do like some of the poses that PPs have mentioned and think you should find something you and YH like.

I used an ultrasound picture in our xmas cards last year and my family loved it.
