Is a belated gift okay?

Please forgive me for not searching. My computer is older than the dinosaurs and does not take kindly to search.

I'm hosting a baby shower tomorrow, and I'm taking care of all the food/invitations/activities. I have given the MTB a lot of hand-me-downs over the past couple of months, but I know that isn't really a "gift". I wanted to give her some sort of present, but I just won't have the money for a while because the shower has taken up all my spare cash for the time being. If it were you, would you be okay with a belated gift? 

ETA: I know it's probably ridiculous to ask this question the day before the shower. It honestly only just occurred to me to think about it. TIA for your advice!

Personally I think the shower is gift enough! But yes, if you still want to get her something, I see no problem with it being a little late.

Agreed.... but if you really would like to do something for her... I would just say that you are on a budget but would like to know what she still needs when baby arrives or something.... or maybe not even leave it that open ended. I would put some money aside (however much you are comfortable with) and bring her a gift when baby is born

Thanks, ladies! That was my instinct as well, but when a guest called to RSVP we got to chatting and she asked what I was getting as a gift. I sort of panicked, haha.

The shower is your gift.  If I were you and wanted to give another gift I would give one just after the baby has arrived.
