I prefer the way Amelia is pronounced over Emilia. I know Amelia is gaining popularity, but of you like that one than go for that one.

I prefer how Amelia is pronounced over Emilia (uh-meal-ya vs. A-meal-ya) I am not even sure everyone knows they are pronounced differently. I do like the Emmie nn more than Mia...but honestly I would still use it even if I went with Amelia.

I pronounce them differently and I strongly prefer Amelia unless you are going for a more latin feel.

I know an Emelia, nn Emmy. I think it's a cute name and has grown with her well, she's college age now. Amelia sounds nice too.

It really depends if you want the "em" or "ahhm" sound.

ETA: Emilia with an i looks icky to me. Don't like that spelling at all.

It really bugs me but do people realize it's not just spelling, but these two names are pronounced differently? They are completely different names. I'm on an IPad so I can't copy and paste easily but use behindthename.com. Different origins. Amelia can have a few different pronunciations. Although very similar sounding, Emilia has a very distinct -yah sound at the end.
