Piper?

DH and I have a boy name picked out, but we cannot agree on girl names.  We still have plenty of time to decide, but I thought I'd get some input from the bump world.

Our boy name is definitely going to be Bennett James.  MN is my grandfather's FN.  He passed away from cancer a couple weeks ago, but we told him we would give our baby his name as a MN if we had a boy.  He was so excited.

 Our girl list:

Jayma

Piper

Lana

Layla

I like Piper, but DH thinks it might sound too girly for an adult.  He likes Jayma best.  I think it could be argued that Jayma or any of the other names sound girly for an adult, and I pointed out that most kids of our baby's generation are going to have names that are girly or unique.  I'd actually like to have more options than the 4 on the list.  Thoughts?

Piper is okay but I think it's trendy.  However, it's much better than Jayma.

From your list I prefer Layla.

What do you think about Jayma?  I like it, but I'm not 100% sold on it.  I think it might be too unique.  Every other name we both like is in the top 10, and I want to avoid those.

Interesting, I don't find Piper to be girly at all. Layla is my favorite of the names you listed. I'm not crazy about the rest.

Yes, which DH actually came up with.  I thought Jamie, too, but my grandfather had a niece named Jamie after him.  Even though I'd still love to honor my grandfather with a girl, I don't think I will come around to Jayma.  Thankful you girls aren't big fans either because I'm going to show DH.  I've been trying to shoot it down without just saying I don't like it.  Lol.

I also really like Layla.  DH used to say the only reason he wasn't a fan was because he always wanted to sing the Eric Clapton song when he heard it.  Last time we talked about it, he said he liked it.

I actually don't like Piper because it doesn't sound feminine to me at all, so I definitely don't see it as too girly. Layla is the only name on your list I semi like.

I just can't take Piper seriously on a kid or an adult.  It's an odd little name to me.

Of the rest you have listed, I guess Lana is the best, but none of these are anything I would pick.  I know Jayma is a real name, but it's so rare that it sounds made up.

Every Leila I know pronounces Lee-la, which is a completely different name than Layla. I personally like Layla the best out of your names, I also like Lyla.

Some LN used as FN are okay in my opinion but I don't get the appeal of Piper at all. I also don't think it ages well.

Piper is one of those names I shouldn't like according to my own rules, but I do.  I think it's cute and it's not that farfetched on an adult woman, certainly better than a lot of trendy names like Rylee and whatever.

Jayma is not great.  Lana and Layla are fine.  I really like your boy name, especially the significance of the MN.
